I love these pieces from Nervous System. Jesse Louis-Rosenberg and Jessica Rosenkrantz find their inspiration from from science, art, and technology and result ends up looking incredibly organic. Practically as though the jewelry is part of your body.
Posted In jewelry, wear itWill and Kate’s wedding is exactly two weeks away. As I mentioned before, I’m sort of pumped and will definitely be in full-on nerd mode. Oh wait, I already am. Only this week did I realize it’s on a Friday (damn Brits) and that I’ll have to get up earlier than usual to watch the festivities. Somehow the idea of setting my alarm for 4am on a Saturday, drinking coffee in bed, and snuggling my pooch sounded better than what what will actually be happening. Me getting ready for work, trying to keep my eyes open, and not spilling coffee on myself.
While I won’t be purchasing any of the extravagant W + K items (RE: the terrifying fridge, the fake engagement ring, commemorative coinage, etc.), I find this illustrated tote of the wedding processions by House That Lars Built 100% acceptable.
Posted In bags, wear itI’ve totally fallen prey to the geometric trend, but you’ve probably figured that out already. I’ve also been coveting a terrarium for the better part of two years. These hand-welded metal and glass beauties from Assembly New York are each one of a kind and vary in size from 7-14″ tall. I’m 96% sure I’ll be dreaming of them tonight. (Fine. After work. During my disco nap.) {via bltd}

Clockwise from top left:
red & blue-green ombre tights from Kron {via Modish}
Black Over the Knee Stripe Tights from ASOS {via enid hwang’s Pin}
Circleline from Patternity {via Pattern Pulp}
Kneepad Nylon Tights from Hansel From Basel {via Teen Angeter’s Pin}
It figures. It’s at least 80º outside these days and I’m finding the best tights every which way I turn. To that I shake my fist at the heavens and vehemently declare “No fair, Universe. No fair at all.”
Posted In wear itNot always the easiest appetizer to eat one-handed (wine or a cocktail is in the other, obviously), but bruschetta is one of my favorites. Can you sense a theme with my go-tos? They’re always versatile and can swing savory or sweet. It makes me feel like a real gastronomist when I can throw this and that together and know the outcome is going to be palatable. Different variations on bruschetta can also be served hot or cold, nice when you have a tried and true recipe that you want to warm up for winter or cool down for summer. Take a look at these bad boys. (As always, click on the image to be taken to the recipe.)

Cody Trepte’s All It Is, And Ever Was, And Ever Will Be project made me catch my breath a little. Honestly. It’s such an immense though, and when you put it against a backdrop as majestic as outer space it makes my mind want to explode in an amazing way. The entire series consists of twelve silkscreens, most not even containing text.
Posted In create, paperI’m a gigantic infographic nerd, I think most designers are. Infographics are a way we can put our creative brains to use in a more analytical manner, all while making everything look nice and organized. That’s probably the reason the My Life in Graphs journal caught my eye. A book full of graphs all about me? Come on, there’s a little bit of narcissistic tendency in all of us.
