IceMilk Aprons
A new measure of success for IceMilk: You know you’re making stunning aprons when someone (ahem, me) might consider wearing one out as a dress or skirt.

Posted In house and home, kitchen, wear itI’m head over heels for this set of ten natural hardwood building blocks! Each one is sanded, finished, and stamped with its namesake. Perfect for your favorite kiddo or displaying on a shelf. Against a white wall. In my house.
Posted In kidsLoving these vintage-inspired lingerie pieces from Australian shop Hopeless. I want drawers full of high-waisted underthings!
Posted In underthings, wear itThese French Enamel Lockets are a perfectly updated version of the classic. I love the shiny enamel pops of color!

This animated video of a typographic alphabet is right up my designerd alley.
Posted In grand design, see itI feel in lurve with Nicole Deponte’s Lilian Asterfield collection back when she first inherited a trash bag full of vintage neckties. Each season Nicole creates a new line and I’m all over these rosette necktie brooches. The perfect unisex accessory, it would look just as dapper on the right suit as on a cocktail dress.

I’m a little late in welcoming the Chinese New Year, but this video makes it all worth the wait. Promise. Super rad graphics with a well thought out execution. I’m not up to speed on my Chinese astrology, but from what I’ve read this year – the year of the Rabbit – is supposed to be the opposite of the last. Whereas the Lion (RE: 2010) is full of ups and downs and topsy-turviness, the Rabbit is more consistent with lots of emphasis on following the path laid out for you. I think I love you, 2011. {via The Fox is Black}
Posted In create, see itI have a confession to make. Prior to a few weeks ago I’d never tasted a true French macaron. I’ll pause while you gather yourself. They’re something I’ve wanted to make for some time because they’re so damn beautiful. But I have this weird reaction to egg whites – they make my tongue itch uncontrollably – so I was skeptical. One bite told me all I needed, no itchiness only deliciousness. So now I’m hoping to make a batch of my own to hand out to friends for Valentine’s Day, these are what I’ve narrowed it down to. (As always click on the photos to be taken to the original source and recipe.)
Posted In recipes, round upI subscribe to the idea that beauty is not only in the eye of the beholder, but also that it’s all around us. In the changing leaves, blooming flowers, and even detritus. It took me exactly .001 seconds to fall in love with pick a jewel. {via Daily Poetics}
