Denise Tassin.

I will agree that NECCO Wafers are pretty to look at in all their pastel glory, but I for one cannot stand to eat those disks of pure sugar. They literally make my teeth hurt. That’s why Baltimore-based artist Denise Tassin’s beautiful and intricate drawings on the wafer itself is an amazing use of canvas space to me. Tassin uses a variety of pens, including fine-tipped Sharpies, to create miniature works of wonder in her Sole NECCO collection. Tassin has a wide range of inspiration she reaches to for her drawings – from scientific diagrams found in biology books to dolls and Santas. After the mini-art is complete, it’s repackaged and sealed for sale.

Letter Pressed.

Love these minimal, type-only cards from Letter Pressed. I found it interesting that the owner used to work in desktop publishing – maybe the reason for the word heavy design?

Drink Up.

Everyone has excess coffee mugs in their cabinets – it’s like they breed in there. I’m no exception, but think I could make room for a few more if they were these sleek designs over at tabletools.

Left to right: Bormioli Rocco Oslo Cafe Ware espresso cup 4 for $16.99, Bormioli Rocco Roma coffee mug and saucer 6 piece set for $24.95, WMF Kult Coffee collection $17.95.

New Elum.

It seems everyone has been posting about Elum’s gorgeous new paper products over the past month. Not too be a copy-cat, but I have to join the group because they’re that incredible. Check out these letter sets, journals and gift bags! I’m feeling the yellow and white journal, it just may have to be mine.

Charles Chocolates.

The packaging on Charles Chocolates confections is very tasty. It doesn’t help that Pate de Fruit is one of my favorite things ever and looks so good on this overcast afternoon of officedom.

Paolo Serraro.

When I first saw the work of illustrator Paolo Serraro of Milan, I was completely taken aback by her use of brilliant colors with stark black and white drawings. I found it interesting that Serraro has her Masters in interior design because I find her work very similar in nature to to the sketches interior designers and architects present to clients. This, above all else, seems to influence her illustrations.

ATYPYK.

I came across ATYPYK about a month ago on my daily web search and was really impressed with their ability to find design that is both conceptual and useful. With the holidays right around the corner they offer a plethora of unique gifts that will be sure to have the recipient asking “Where did you find this?!”

Clockwise from upper left: Pause bookmark, Bullseye bib, Book cutting board, Bzzz fly swatter, Ticket bookmark, Future-telling coffee cup.
