This Don James poster was one of those things I saw and just can’t get out of my mind. I love the use of type and white space. I love the photo. I love that the only color on the entire page is the orange 1503. I can already tell that it’s going to have to be mine at some point.
The high today is 78º which seems ridiculous for early February. (Not to mention that tomorrow it’s only supposed to make it up to 32º with a chance of snow!) Today’s weather has got me thinking about car rides with the windows down, grilling out and summer drinks. One of the best things is a limeade from Sonic when the mercury starts to climb, so I was thrilled when I came across this recipe for Cherry Limeade Cupcakes a few weeks ago at Never Bashful With Butter. Can’t wait to try them out and this may just be the day.
Artist Aurora Robson sees things differently than most. She sees art in what most would deem trash. By taking old magazine clippings – among other things – she creates intricate, detailed works of art that are both colorful and imaginative. I don’t know about you, but I could spend hours dissecting these pieces and find something new each minute. Check out her site for more “experiments” and creations.
This video, in my mind, is the most inspirational political speech of our generation. I can honestly say that I’ve never been moved to feel any emotions similar to the ones I felt while watching this from any other political talk.
“This is a video for Barack Obama inspired by his speech on change and aspiration. It was produced independently without knowledge or support from the Obama campaign. It was made by will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas and stars Scarlett Johansson, Tatyana Ali, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Kate Walsh, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Adam Rodriquez, Kelly Hu, Adam Rodriquez, Amber Valetta and Nick Cannon.”
If you liked this video, please forward it on! There are a lot of undecided people out there and a lot of close races.
A few weeks ago I cleaned out my closet and everything is organized. It’s a small walk-in (as in walk in, stand, do a 180º and you’re out) and I’m having shoe storage issues. There is none. I’ve already been relegated to storing out of season shoes elsewhere. My ‘Winter Collection’ consists of around twenty pairs which are currently haphazardly strewn about the floor of the closet. I’m the sort of person who won’t wear something unless it’s right in front of me and I can see it, which leaves out buying a big plastic tub to throw them all in. I love these shoe racks, but am seriously short on wall space inside the closet as well as space on the rods which knocks out those hanging racks. What’s a girl to do?!
Anthropologie’s done it again with these chemistry lab vases. I love their versatility, you could use them in any room for quite a few things. I might even go a little crazy and use them for alcohol or pre-mixed drinks at a get together.
I’m thrilled to have found etsy shop Kelbelle Designs. I have a huge love of cocktail rings and one of my nicknames happens to be Kell Bell, so I’m pretty sure it was meant to be. The designer works mainly with metal, glass, beads, precious and semi-precious gemstones. The rings also feature triple sterling silver hand-hammered bands. So, so pretty. The big decision is which one do I get??
