Gift List: The Greenie.

I’m so excited to be putting together Design Crush’s very first series of holiday gift lists! Between today and December 23rd you can expect seventeen lists compiled for everyone on your list. Happy shopping!

1. foldable bird house
Follow a few simple steps, you’ve created a sweet eco shack for your outdoor feathered friends. Made of water repellent cardboard, this foldable birdhouse measures a roomy 10″ tall. The hole size will accomodate many different varieties. There’s even a happy perch included.

2. Sagaform’s trio herb pot
Scandinavian in its simple, unadorned and practical design, this ceramic pot is an ingenious way of enjoying fresh herbs much like flowers: Insert a bunch in the enlarged opening, and keep hydrated by pouring water into the corner hole. The broad base ensures that all those little stalks have access to water, while allowing air to circulate so herbs keep from becoming limp and waterlogged.

3. outdoor thermometer

4. market tote with bottle pockets
The bag’s main compartment can hold a ton of stuff, has four grommet “air holes” at the bottom corners to let groceries “breathe”, and two flaps that zipper closed. With six bottle pockets on the exterior, you can carry bottles securely and well balanced. There’s an inside zipper pocket, a mobile phone pocket, a tiny plastic pocket to hold change for the parking meter, a removable zipper pouch to use as a cosmetics case or wallet, handles and shoulder straps. Made from durable polyester.

5. ‘i am not a paper towel’ kitchen towel
More than just an environmental statement, this set of 100% organic cotton towels are manufactured in an eco-friendly way using water-based inks and biodegradable detergents. These clever towels are an absorbent waffle weave and feature a hanging loop.

6. indoor wall planter
These wall-mounted and freestanding models are an easy way to add a breathtaking plant display to your home. Each kit includes the planting grid, top and bottom trays, a cedar frame, mounting hardware and complete instructions.

7. twist & spout
Twist & Spout fits virtually any soda or water bottle with a screw-on cap. Use the Garden style to create an instant watering can. Use the Kitchen style to make those big two-liter soda bottles easy to handle.

8. kayaki wood tea cups
Keyaki wood is a Japanese elm and has been much prized for centuries by Japanese woodworkers for the dramatic and beautiful grain. Each teacup is carved from a single block of wood and has a unique pattern. They are light and wonderful to hold in the hand.

9. ‘i am not a paper cup’ ceramic cup
No you are not, we agree. You are a double-walled porcelain cup with silicone top.

Monday Goodness: Tis the Season.

Hello there! I hope you had a spectacular Thanksgiving.

I’m feeling quite rejuvenated after my four days off. Along the way I even managed to do quite a bit of shopping – some even for Christmas presents! – and win the Thanksgiving dessert contest. All in all a fabulous holiday.

Stayed tuned today for the start of the holiday season here at Design Crush!
