Word: concrete and honey.

You may have thought this to be a romantic gesture.
Just as you may be surprised to learn.
That I am not part of this memory.
This girl isn’t me.
Do you not wonder what you were trying to hide?
Does she know you cut off her head?
She’s wearing red.
I don’t. I’d never.
Even though I feel like I’m bleeding.
I do like they buttons though. I bet you do too. The way they curve with the shape of her ‘topography’.
Where is this gate? Where did you take her?
Don’t bother answering.
I won’t be around to hear your response.
She’s too young. She wears ribbons in her hair.
What have you done?

Picture It.

The photographer behind this photo is only sixteen (which I can say being THIRTY and all…) and her work is breathtaking. At sixteen I was way too concerned with boys to have a passion about anything else. Check out her flickr photostream for photo after beautiful photo.

Win It: The Paper Apartment.

When I was first introduced to The Paper Apartment a few months ago, the very first thing I noticed was that I loved every single thing. Usually one or two items catch my eye in a shop, but here I didn’t know where to avert my eyes for fear of whipping out my Visa and buying ten of each! Yeah, it’s that good.

This week you have a shot at winning Angela’s Ruffles Note Set. Completely and totally girly and oh so pretty.

To Enter, Tell Me:
1. About the most feminine outfit in your wardrobe
2. Your email address, in case you win (those who do not will be disqualified)
3. Do it all before Monday, November 16th at 9am CST

A random winner will be chosen shortly after the giveaway ends. Inthe meantime, hop on over to The Paper Apartment to check out the full line and don’t miss this, I’m obsessed with it!

Feathering My Wardrobe.

Pssst… this week you can find me over on Feather Report. I created a few outfits that I’d love to be able to afford and wear, so hurry on over sometime and take a gander. (And if you just happen to fall in love with Melisa’s brilliant idea while you’re visiting, there’s an app for that!)

The Daily Eat: Brown Sugar Almond Pound Cake.

I love summer and all of the fruits and veggies it brings along with it. And I always inevitably think that I’m going to sink into a food-related depression the instant it all goes away. But then fall shows up with all of its delicious, savory, indulgent foods and I’m insanely happy once again. Like this Brown Sugar Almond Pound Cake with Sauteed Spiced Apples.

Win It: paper bullet Winner.

Congratulations to Leesh who won an incredible original painting by the lovely Lisa Romero! Thank you, Lisa, for giving away such a great piece!

And to answer the question, my favorite shoes (for the past few years at least) are a pair of worn-in camouflage Converse All-Stars. I wear them way too often, with more outfits than could ever be deemed acceptable. I heart them!

Monday Goodness: Watch Your Step.

Somehow having a great weekend makes today and the upcoming week a little easier to bear. Like I squeezed every last drop of potential out of it and am ready to move on. Or something.

• went to the Girlie Show with Caroline, then we hopped around the city exploring a few new shops and eating cupcakes
• got some Christmas shopping done
• did some artsy-craftsy stuff, the Show really got my creativity flowing!
• cleaned up around the house
• started thinking about Christmas cookie recipes and planning things to do on my trip home to PA next month (next month?!)
• framed + hung a few prints

The Daily Eat: Pumpkin Spice Scones + Pumpkin Roundup #5.

Scones have my heart, but I’ve never made a one. These Pumpkin Spice Scones lean towards the easy side of baking, so I think I’ll be making an attempt at them this holiday season… mmmm.

DIY Book Wreath.

As difficult as it would be for me to tear up a book, I think I could somehow find a way to manage for the sake of making one of these to die for book wreaths. Yes, yes I could. (Sorry, librarians of the world, but know that it’s all in the name of beautiful things and saving a buck!) {via @papercrave}
