Hope Gangloff

Hope Gangloff‘s artistic history is fantastic to read about. These days her large-scale paintings are created from frantic and loose modeling by a long list of volunteers and inanimate objects. I love the intentionally exaggerated features in many of her pieces.

People watching is one of my all-time favorite pastimes, so I love seeing Bologna-based illustrator Victoria Semykina Antolini credits the activity as an inspiration behind her beautiful creations. She also spends a considerable amount of time indulging her love of ships by frequenting a shipyard, adding an adventurous feel to all of Victoria’s work. Leonie Bos‘ architectural illustrations make me recall how much I loved my mechanical drawing class in high school. All of those lovely angles determined by math. I really enjoy the halftones she brings to each piece by using traditional printmaking techniques as well.
