Salt + Pepper Cellars

I’ve seen plenty of salt cellars and even a pepper cellar or two, but never a set of two. I love these salt + pepper cellars from Terrain to pieces. The sculpted porcelain, the handmade look, and that stitched detail on the back just seals the deal. I always use shakers, but would love to change over. How about you – cellars or shakers at the dining table?

Chemicus Service Set

For the scientist/host who has everything, Art Lebedev has created a serving set combining fine china and a chemistry set – Chemicus. Now you can take your experiments out of the lab and into the kitchen! And if you look close enough you might even spot a few biohazard signs. Needless to say, I’m in love.

Adios April

Dyed Easter eggs with my mom. (See the Mickey Mouse??)
Bought more melamine!
Filled the house with flowers.
Cuddled with The Peanut.

Visited Chirps & Cheers for the first time!
Spent lots of time outdoors with Piper.
Reminisced a little – that’s me and my dad!
Marveled at only having killed two perennials in my butterfly garden.

Urban Geodes

You can go ahead and file Paige Smith’s urban geodes project under Things I Wish I’d Thought of First. Paige has been installing these metallic paper structures that mimic mineral formations in spaces in buildings and holes in pipes all around Los Angeles. The joy lies in their unexpectedness and the fact that they might be easily missed. Check out Paige’s map of their locations (12 so far) and hunt for them on your own! (via Got a Girl Crush)

01/ This week’s theme appears to be all things geometric, like these painted teacup planters.
02/ The Turducken of cheese balls!

07/ Oh you know, just a full-sized projected laser keyboard. No biggie.
08/ One of the only things that can make cheese look better – this puzzle tray.
09/ I might eat my sushi more slowly if it were wrapped in this delicate laser cut seaweed.
10/ A countertop coffee brewer, yes!

Moonrise Kingdom

It’s been far too long since a new Wes Anderson flick graced my life. Far, far too long. May 25th is going to be amazing because I’ll most likely be one of the nerds waiting in line to see Moonrise Kingdom. If you haven’t yet, check out the trailer here! (character posters via indiewire)

Sue Tirrell

Animals + color + pattern = Sue Tirrell. The Montana sculptor and potter has this way of making all of the elements work in perfect harmony, and I can’t get enough. Sue’s pieces blend Western culture, folk art, and the contemporary perfectly. (via Design Sponge)

Amy Sia

I was recently introduced to the work of London-based textile print designer Amy Sia, and became immediately smitten with her bold, feminine, colorful work. It gives me such a happy feeling and leaves me smiling ear to ear. Lucky for me (and you), we can buy Amy’s work through Society6 as prints, canvases, and iPhone cases.
