After attending the Kate Spade party at Alt Summit I really gained a new appreciation for the level of creativity infused into the iconic brand. Check out this video – Seven Henrietta Street – created by Kinga Burza, it made me fall all over again. (Music: I Will Never Love You More by Soko.)
Posted In music, see itSun Boxes is a solar powered sound installation created by Craig Colorusso that’s been a long time in the making. It’s comprised of twenty speakers operating independently, each powered by the sun via solar panels. Inside each Sun Box is a PC board that has a recorded guitar note loaded and programmed to play continuously in a loop. These guitar notes collectively make a Bb chord. Because the loops are different in length, once the piece begins they continually overlap and the piece slowly evolves over time. The takeaway is a unique interactive experience for each person who interacts with the installation. The photos alone left me wanting a mini version for my yard.

Globes are so 2011. Each of these decoupaged works of art from ImageNations is a globe with a previous life and plenty of character. {via BB-Blog}

I was so happy to see that these simple, clean, and well designed recipe cards from briones+co. exist. The best part is that they can be flipped over, addressed, and sent to a friend!
Posted In paper goodsI love this trend of artistic collages that’s making its way through the world. There’s no way to do it wrong and Tom Edwards is most definitely doing it right!
Posted In create, mixed media, paper goods, printsI’ve always been proud to be a Scorpio and taken pride in the fact that I match up with the profile of the sign quite nicely. So when I thought (for a few days) that I might be a Libra, well, I started wondering how exactly one goes about changing a tattoo of a scorpion one might have on one’s foot into Libran scales. Luckily all was resolved shortly thereafter. However, since the Great Astrology Scare of 2011 I’ve been noticing lots and lots of astrologically-based things. Here are a few that caught my eye.
