Posted In create, halloween, holidays, paperDave Eggers is a modern day Renaissance man. Writer and publisher? Check and check. Lyricist? Check. Artist? Check. I’ve seen some of his graphics work before, but these illustrations are something else entirely. {via Teen Angster}

The process for these pictures is pretty simple: I find an old photo of an animal that somehow has some intrigue, and I use a China marker to freehand a version of that animal onto very smooth paper. Then I think of what that animal might be thinking — if that animal had an antagonistic relationship with humans and was vying with those humans for the favor of a Catholic God.”

Happy first day of Fall! In celebration of my favorite season, we’ll be celebrating all day long. First up is my idea of camping. I’m not exactly an outdoorsy sorta gal, so I much prefer it when a cabin is involved instead of a tent. (I’d also prefer not having to dig a hole in order to use the “facilities”, but that’s another story.)

The solid wood conceals a steel square rod mount for hanging a bike, doubling as shelf space. It’s now a permanent addition to knife & saw’s shop.

It put the idea in my head of taking the same photo of someone every year from birth to death. I think if I ever have children that might be something I try to accomplish.
PS: There’s a follow-up in the works starring one hundred women.
