The best ideas often show up out of nowhere while chilling in a cafe or bar. Bold Ideas has created a series entitled “A Cup” notebooks, based on the ingredients in a drink you might be sipping at any of these given times. Great approach with the kraft paper/color block covers. {via Design*Sponge}
My love affair with GREER Chicago began a few years ago when I was first immersing myself into the world of letterpress and paper goods. Because, well, they have it all. GREER is a one-stop shop of awesome and I’m dying to get to their brick and mortar location to see it all in person (and meet the lovely Chandra!). But for now I’ll just have to live vicariously through the two of you who will be winning your own lovely pile of goodies like the one above.
To Enter, Tell Me:
1. What’s your favorite shop online that you wish had a brick and mortar location in your city?
2. Your email address.
3. Do it all before Monday, March 1st at 9am CST.
Please leave only one comment. Those who do not leave a valid email address will be disqualified. Winner will be selected randomly and contacted Monday, March 1st.
Loving the organic design of the Cocoon. Plant herbs in the top half and store fresh fruit in the cubby on the bottom. Because it’s made of clay, water is easily absorbed and during the evaporation process it keeps things nice and cool. I have the perfect place for one. {via Design Milk}
FICTION is a new shop that I’m quickly falling in love with. Artist Maggie Louden has a way of capturing nature in the most subtle of ways. Must be her pacific northwest roots shining through.
This is the best part of my Monday so far. The Color Theory Quick Reference Poster. Great for explaining a color choice to a client or just for yourself. The unbelievable thing? It’s free. As a PDF, desktop wallpaper and even an editable .eps file. And Print.
After spotting Lisa Jones Studio over on decor8 yesterday I had to see more for myself. I love her use of flat fields of color, especially coincidentally on her valentines.
Alli Jacobson emailed to let me know about her Cityscape series. She purchased 100 pieces of heavy square stock and decided to create a series of, yes, cityscapes. Some in full-on vibrant colors, some liney and black and white and some right in between. You can check out the full spectrum at her shop, but in the meantime here are a few of my favorites.
THERMOS Kanne by Jorg Boner is designed with being on the go in mind. Two mugs fit neatly under a strap until needed. Then the elastic strap itself turns into a handle, in effect converting the entire thermos into a carafe. Brilliant. {via swissmiss}
