The Perfect Bag.

Last Wednesday night, after hours of whittling down my packing list for Alt, I managed to cram everything into a carry-on bag. And came to the maddening conclusion that I have become a high-maintenance traveler. I was in Salt Lake City for just over 48 hours, how in the world could I require more than would fit in a carry-on?!

And then I saw this. The Perfect Bag. (No, seriously, that’s really what it’s called!) And I decided that if this were my bag I could make two weeks worth of stuff fit inside just to have the pleasure of toting around something so chic. Hop on over and take the 360º tour. {seen on Neatorama}

Win It: Strawberry Luna.

I’ve been stalking Strawberry Luna (aka Allison) for a few years now. I can’t get enough of her style and once I found out she’s based out of my hometown – Pittsburgh, PA – I was a total goner! All the work for Strawberry Luna is designed and hand screenprinted by Allison herself. And yes, they’re all for real, live shows and real, live bands. Talk about a dream job. And this week Allison is giving away this beauty to one of you!

To Enter, Tell Me:

1. Your favorite band. Ever.
2. Your email address. (In case you win. Those who do not will sadly be disqualified.)
3. Do it all before Monday, February 1st at 9am CST.

Help Haiti Rise.

There’s so much generosity going on in the wake of the earthquake in Haiti last week, it helps to renew my hope in the human race. Pre-order this super-soft Help Haiti Rise tee from artist Mike Fretto and feel good knowing that 100% of all proceeds go directly to Partners in Health and their medical work in this ravaged country.

Win It: Bread of Many.

This week I’m really stoked to share the artistic talents of Haley of Bread of Many, a D.C. transplant now living abroad in Cambridge, England. I love the raw quality of all of Haley’s illustrations, clean but not too polished. Real.

This week she’s gifting one of you with a set of HUSH note cards (as seen the Winter 2010 issue of Vogue Knitting). Six flat note cards with matching envelopes, featuring an illustration of a little girl knitting sweetly in the corner. Perfect for sending a note or jotting down a quick list.

To Enter, Tell Me:
1. What’s a skill or hobby you would like to learn?
2. Your email address, in case you’re the winner! (Those who skip this step will sadly be disqualified.)
3. Do it all by Monday, Janry 25th at 9am CST

Happy Weekend.

It felt great to get back to regular blogging this week after almost a month of haphazard posts. Thanks for waiting out the flu and two Christmases with me!

You may have noticed one sizable change here over the past week: The Daily Eat is no longer with us. After a year and half I’ve decided it was time to take things in a fresher direction. One that is decidedly more true to Design Crush. So stay tuned to see where it goes, I promise to try not to disappoint!

My favorites from the past week (and maybe a few from the week before that, too!)…

Amanda Wachob Tattoo.

I have five tattoos of my own and have always been a fan of the all black look. But these? The work of tattoo artist Amanda Wachon is flat out art. Brilliant art that makes me want to embrace the colored side. I’ve never wanted to live in NYC more than this very moment, she’s there inking away at Dare Devil Tattoo. Like, whoa, total girl crush. {via frolic!}

Buttons Print.

Eva Juliet never fails to impress and this Buttons print is no exception. I love those candy-colored hues! This piece would be perfectly at home in my little studio, reminding me that I’d really love to learn to sew more than fallen off buttons.
