Printable Winter Nights Gift Wrap + Tags

This holiday we’ve teamed up with surface pattern designer Vivian Kvitka, aka the Good Viv, to bring you a gorgeously illustrated printable! Vivian created art full of wintery holiday windows, constellations, and stars that was turned into gift wrap and tags for you to print and cover your gifts with. The mustard and indigo lend themselves to all December holidays, whichever you celebrate, and can be used all winter long. The download includes colored as well as black and white versions of the gift tags, letter-sized sheets, and 11 x 17″ sheets. Enjoy!

Paige Jiyoung Moon

Just when everyday life seems to be exceptionally boring, a superbly talented artist like Paige Jiyoung Moon pops up on my radar as a reminder that it’s anything but. In fact, it’s quite beautiful. Paige’s slice-of-life paintings and drawings turn mundane tasks like doing the dishes and going to the laundry mat into well thought out scenes full of color and detail.

Ezra Yew Wah Ng / Labels

After Ezra Yew Wah Ng finished design school, he embarked upon a self-discovery art project entitled Labels. The end result features his efforts at proving himself against the many labels that get thrown at us as people and sharing his side of the story through hands-on craftsmanship and physical prints. The project conveys a multitude of messages, visual interpretations, and aesthetics at first glance. The painstaking process that’s no doubt involved speaks volume of his patience, and in the end the visuals he created are consistently intelligent and remarkable. Looking forward to see more of his upcoming design works!

I have a huge crush on Reeta Ek, the Helsinki-based artist who you may know from her work for Marimekko. I love her print work just as much as her textile designs, and would happily display any of them on my walls or my body.

Angie Cass

Angie Cass is a multifaceted artist, and that’s putting it mildly. The self-proclaimed illustrator and animator also works with wallpaper, gift wrap, tissue, origami paper, house paint, lacquer, and found items for design and fine art projects. My favorite is her latest – a series of 3D projects contained in old tins.

Thomas Voorn / Temporary Tapestry

What happens when an artist buys out all of the A4 paper in a defunct stationery store? Temporary Tapestry is what. Thomas Voorn then took photos of the paper arranged in interesting ways (actually just thrown out randomly), turning them into patterns allowing you to create your own wallpaper. This particular wallpaper comes in single sheets that when arranged turns into a kaleidoscopic pattern, there are nine patterns to choose from.

Loris Cecchini / Extruding Bodies

Artist Loris Cecchini’s ongoing series of relief sculptures, entitled Extruding Bodies, create impressions on gallery walls. The polyester resin Cecchini uses is designed to lie flat against a surface, with the result resembling a vibrating pool of water or household objects attempting to push through from the next room.

Deedee Cheriel

Dede Cheriel’s work explores our attempts to connect to the world. Her influences come from East Indian temple imagery, punk rock, and the Pacific Northwest, with the resulting imagery showing how these efforts are both compassionate and uncomfortable. Dede’s shop has several pieces up for grabs if you love her work like I do.
