Now this is fun – the U.S.A. Song Map is a vintage looking map of the country created entirely out of over 1,000 song titles! The titles reference states, cities, rivers, mountains, and landmarks and include classics like Sweet Home Alabama (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Empire State of Mind (Jay-Z and Alicia Keys) to more obscure references that really make you think. The 4-color litho is printed on 120gsm uncoated art paper, measures 80cm x 60cm and features an A-Z key.
Nynne Rosenvinge is a Danish brand by a Copenhagen-based artist/designer of the same name. The shop’s virtual walls are filled with interior objects and art that are all produced in Denmark. My favorites can be seen above and below.
Life & Type is a collaboration where you provide the idea and they provide the letterpress machine, the design templates, and the craftsmanship. Together you work to create a personalized, large format art print that shares your life in type. I had the chance to team up with creator Daniel Richardson to work through the seamless process he’s streamlined and make my own.
After settling on one of their three available templates (with more to come soon), and a theme of previous addresses of places I’ve lived, we got to work. I filled out the simple template form, submitted it, and received a proof within 24 hours. I made a few tiny changes to my original wording and gave the go ahead to Daniel.
That’s when he took the reins setting type and printing. A few days later my custom poster was in the mail and on its way to my doorstep. In the meantime Daniel emailed some photos of the process, a step that’s included in all orders that really sends the experience over the top.
When my Life & Type poster arrived I was even more impressed than expected. The paper is super luxe, the type is beautiful, and the entire experience was just so personalized. A poster like this would make such a fantastic gift for so many occasions – graduation, a new home, a wedding, etc. I know this beauty will be hanging in my home for years and years to come.

There’s something simple yet striking about black and white art. Whatever form the subject matter takes – illustration, photograph, sculpture – the end result tends to be graphic and attention grabbing. Now that’s a theme I can back 100%.
Gems, minerals, rocks… all have been revered for centuries, and are now being regaled once more. I only own one, a big peach hued crystal cluster that once belonged to by step-grandma that I’ve admired for as long as I can remember. But I love the idea of more, maybe just not resting on surfaces everywhere in my home.
That’s where Laurel Canyon Dreaming and their artwork comes into play. Each archival print is inspired by the canyons and hills of Los Angeles. Molly, the artist behind it all, uses her own original paintings, collages, and drawings as starting points or bases work off of rare antique prints that she’s been collecting for years.

Who couldn’t use a little extra motivation in their everyday life? I know I can. I’m a one woman band with an office in my house, such an arrangement can definitely leave verbal encouragement and support lacking. Thanks to Department of Motivation I need look no further than my walls. With black and white graphic words of wisdom such as Get Shit Done and Do Work That Matters all the bases are covered.
