The official posters of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games have been released. Loving the graphics – all of the colors, movement and patterns are beautiful. Can’t wait to see the graphics for the individual events if this is a preview of what’s to come! You can check out some of the graphics for individual events here.
Interactive art is the best! Loving this An Apple a Day letterpress poster from VikDesign. I’ve actually been eating an apple a day for a few months now and wondered about doing something cool with the stickers. Each day peel the little variety sticker off of your apple and affix to a square on the poster. Sort of makes healthy fun, no?
Ink Posters is a collaboration between British designers Joff and Ollie and Zoot. It’s a collection of ideas, inspirational designs as well as collaborations with other people. Pretty, printed on super nice paper and exclusive to Ink (no reproductions). Ding! Ding! Ding!
I’ve always been a lover of things that are type-based and really graphic looking. Roll & Tumble Press is my perfect match. Now, which to choose? Here are just a few of my favorites.
I’m sort of what you might call geography obsessed. I’m a big fan of state capitals and mottos are closely related enough for me to covet this poster from Two Eyeballs – The Fifty States and Their Mottos. You can also elect to go state pride specific with either a tee or block mounted piece.
Loving these fun, intensely graphic poster prints from John W. Golden. I think they’d be perfect to either inject a bit of humor into a home, or to brighten up a child’s room with some gentle reminders for everyday living.
A little known fact about me? I’m obsessed with the Olympics. Summer or Winter Games, I don’t really care. But for the two weeks they take over the airwaves I rarely leave my house or my television. I videotaped the 1992 gymnastics competition (I was 13) and re-watched it several times. Did I think the outcome would be different? Who knows. I just dig the Games that much. So you can bet when 08.08.08 rolls around I’ll be glued to my seat and wishing I were in Beijing.
I came across a great book last week on Cool Hunting. A Century of Olympic Game Posters“offers an intensely visual representation of the modern Games, and shows the evolution of the Olympic Games poster as well, from the first official poster for Stockholm in 1912 right up to the present.” I just might need it.
Bella Muse’s designs are awesomely whimsical and cheeky all at the same time. Little did I know that quite a few are actually available as limited edition silkscreens!
Loving these Live Now posters by Eric Smith. They become even more wonderful when you know the full story…
I was recently diagnosed with cancer and have begun down the treatment road. I have learned to saturate each moment in front of me with all of my energy, as well as many other tremendous lessons. I decided to create a poster series with some quotes that have driven close to my spirit throughout this whole ordeal. Proceeds from the sale of these posters will be donated towards the Live Strong Foundation. Please purchase one, or three, and spread words of hope and inspiration.
