Even though today feels like throwing a housewarming party while the place is on fire, I’m celebrating what my America stands for and I hope you are as well. For me that means equality for all, affordable healthcare for the masses, keeping our borders open to everyone, and so much more. I’ll keep fighting for that America tooth and nail.

It’s fantastic when a holiday falls on a Friday or Monday for a grand ol’ three day weekend. Yesterday I took this rosé sangria to a get together at a friend’s house and today I’m making these mini blueberry galette stars to take along to a pool party. As the United States celebrates her 238 birthday I’d say she still looks pretty damn good. So we’ll all celebrate here in the U.S. by firing up the grill and cooking everything in sight, hanging out in blazing temperatures while pretending not to sweat, and watching fireworks light up the night sky being extra thankful that the holiday falls on a Friday this year. Happy Birthday, America!
