As I write this I’m trying to ignore the buds i saw on the tree in my front yard this morning. In January. I’m so not okay with that, I haven’t had nearly enough time in front of my fireplace yet this winter. Inside I’m keeping it as cozy as possible despite nature’s warnings – spicy candles, pots of soup, and of course plenty of blankets to bundle up in.

Rebecca Atwood + Calypso

I have a mega design crush on Brooklyn-based artist Rebecca Atwood, and if possible it just got bigger. Her use of traditional textile techniques and hand painting makes my heart go pitter patter and both are on full display in the new Rebecca Atwood and Calypso St. Barth collaboration. Four unique designs with reversible details are now available online and in stores. The white canvas, subtle metallics, and soft sea greens and blues will bright up your winter and still feel fresh and vibrant when summer rolls around! Warm Winter Candles

If you visit my home chances are there’s a candle burning. During warmer months it’s almost always my favorite burnt sugar scent, and when the temperature drops it’s something warm and comforting. An almond/tobacco I can’t get enough of or something with cloves and cinnamon. To me scent is a big part of the personality of your home that should be subtle yet evident the moment someone sets foot in the door.

My (Imaginary) Christmas 2013

Seriously, don’t even worry about bringing anything because I’ve got it all covered! Longtime readers might remember last year’s dream Christmas dinner as the start of this extravagant/gluttonous series I create for most major holidays. And let me tell you, I should really throw make believe parties more often because they’re so much fun!
