Hello Lucky did a great job merging retro and modern design in their series of Halloween cards. Think I might purchase one to frame and bring out as my Halloween print every October!
I love a good cake plate, which is what I see these mini pedestals as in my mind. Or maybe it would hold my perfume bottles. Or spice bottles. Each vintage base is unique and handcrafted out of a vintage powder coated brass candlestick holder base and detachable oval corian top. Because the base and top detach, the possibilities really are endless! {via Two Brunettes}
Tequila is almost always my weapon of choice, but I’ve never tasted any that’s infused with another flavor. Interesting. One more reason to try this Smoky Pear Margarita, wouldn’t you say?
Smoky Pear Margarita – 1 1/2 oz pear infused silver tequila – dash tobala Mescal – 1/2 oz fresh sour – 1/2 oz lime – 1/2 oz triple sec
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with pear slice.
I can’t seem to get enough masks this October. From Martha Stewart’s crepe paper concoctions to these clipped paper versions by Merrilee Liddiard of mer mag. (You might remember her snowflake pumpkins from last week – she’s a wiz with scissors!)
I wish doughnuts were healthy for you. Like as in chicken salad with light vinaigrette healthy, because I’m fairly certain I could live off them. At least these Baked Pear and Cinnamon Doughnuts are just that, baked, making me feel only a teeny-tiny bit bad about wanting to make a big batch and eat them all myself.
I love, love, love the concept behind Sharon O’Connor’s MusicCooks – 15 themed collections of recipes with an accompanying CD of music to listen to while you’re cooking that matches the mood of the food! The recipe cards are sturdy and easy to clean, while the music features Grammy-award winning musicians and Sharon herself among other artists.
Thanks to Sharon and her lovely daughter, Claire, I have two collections to give away this week – Coffee Treats and Chocolate Bliss! Coffee Treats features muffins, scones and quick breads to enhance your coffee time and Brandenburg Concertos to tickle your eardrums. Ant then there is Chocolate Bliss which is just that, a chocolate lover’s dream come true! Seductive Bossa Nova music is paired with it to put you in the mood for romance.
To Enter: 1. If you were to create a cookbook, what recipe that you make would have to be included as the star? 2. Leave your email address so that I can contact you should you win (those who do not will be disqualified) 3. Do it all before Tuesday, October 13th at 9am CST
Two winners will be randomly selected shortly after the giveaway closes. Best of luck!
I’d love to have about five of these intricate Halloween star urchins to pile in a bowl on my coffee table! Each one has a whopping 80 hand-formed points and a loop for hanging.
