On the Rocks: Sweet Tea Mojito.

Sweet tea and a mojitos are two of my beverages of choice, so surely a Sweet Tea Mojito must taste like little drops of heaven!

Sweet Tea Mojito
Steep 4 or 5 black tea bags, 2 cups turbinado sugar and 2 handfuls of fresh mint in 3 cups simmering water for 5 minutes, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Strain into a pitcher; add the juice of 3 limes, 1 1/2 cups light rum, 1 cup cold water and another handful of mint. Stir vigorously, crushing the mint with a wooden spoon; chill. Serve over ice with lime and more mint.

Labor Day Eats.

I can hardly believe this weekend is Labor Day! Seems like the last few days of summer are zooming past. I put together a little menu full of some few things I’d love to make for a cookout this holiday weekend. Enjoy!

The kiddos can enjoy some (1)Pineapple Mallowade, while we adults sip on (2)Lambic Sangria. A nice raspberry-laced twist on the original. As we relax in the backyard and play some lawn games everyone can munch on some (3)Avocado Salsa and tortilla chips. For dinner a modern take on (4)Broccoli Slaw, crunchy (5)Summer Panzanella, refreshing Korean (6)Sweet and Spicy Cucumbers, juicy (7)Bruschetta Burgers and (8)The Best Baked Beans Ever. And after we digest for awhile and wait for the sun to drop a bit lower in the sky dessert is served: (9)Magic Pudding Dessert for everyone and some *extra special* (10)Cold Comfort Pops for the adults. I don’t know about you, but I sure am full.

Before you start clicking through August’s Mad Props, please take a second and answer this one teeny-tiny poll question. Thank you!

The Daily Eat: Grilled Cheese with Fresh Cherries + Cherry Roundup.

I have exactly two things to say about this scrumptious looking Grilled Cheese with Fresh Cherries recipe.

1. What an unlikely pair that I’m now dying to try.
2. I now really want to eat a grilled cheese sandwich with cherries for lunch!

Bodum Bistro Toaster.

Bodum’s new Bistro toaster is serious. It has adjustable slots and a built-in warming rack along with all the usuals we expect. I’d buy it just to be pretty counter candy though, the design is a spot on mix of retro and modern. I’ll take the white one, please!
