Welcome to Pesto Week! A perfect example that shows how combining simple ingredients can create the most extraordinary results.
Creamy Pesto Pasta looks mouthwateringly delicious. And fattening. But thanks to a recipe for Guiltless Alfredo Sauce, it’s not nearly as bad for you as one might think! The amount of pasta used is also very deceptive.
Hop on over to visit Cass at Coco + Kelley and check out her latest Style (E)scape – Garden Glam + Granitas – and my idea of a great summer soiree! (Including a must-make recipe of course…)
Coffee cakes are one of those amazing things that can transition from dessert to breakfast seamlessly. White Gull Inn Coffee Cake sandwiches a layer of blueberries right in the middle for a burst of fruity flavor!
I don’t think I could be any more into the haphazard girly look of this boudoir. It just looks so lived in with the shutters thrown wide open, the clothes and shoes situated all about and the frames all but falling off the walls. The pink upholstered bed coupled with the chandelier give everything that extra princess-y touch. And that random bathtub? Love it.
Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m a freak of nature and don’t really like ice cream all that much. But I’d be willing to look the other way and try Häagen-Dazs five. It’s all natural with only five (heh) ingredients and some pretty eye-catching packaging. And the flavors looks like something I might be interested in: mint, ginger, coffee, vanilla bean, passion fruit, brown sugar and milk chocolate. Has anyone tried it out yet?
I had my first experience with mojitos at a fusion restaurant/bar in Minneapolis’ Uptown area called Chino Latino. (PS: If you’re ever in the area eat there – you won’t be sorry!) Since that day back in 2003 they’ve become one of my favorite cocktails. I think it’s the combination of mint and lime that floats my boat. That said, I’m really anxious to try out St. Joe’s Blueberry Mojito and its twist on the classic!
Ingredients: – 10 mint leaves – 10 blueberries – 3/4 oz simple syrup – 1 oz lime juice – 1 oz chilled club soda – 1 oz chilled Sprite – 1 1/2 oz gold rum
In a cocktail glass, muddle blueberries, simple syrup, and mint. Fill the glass with ice. Pour the lime juice, club soda, sprite, and rum into the glass, pouring the liquid over the back of a spoon to avoid disturbing as much mint as possible. Swirl the glass to mix, and enjoy!
I’m a bread girl. I’m the one who will fill up on the bread basket and not be hungry for the main course. I just can’t help myself! This Blueberry Focaccia wouldn’t stand a chance in my house.
It’s going to be a blazer today here in OKC (100º!) as well as throughout much of the midwest and a cool and creamy blueberry milkshake could not sound more divine. Love the marshmallows floating on top!
Interactive art is the best! Loving this An Apple a Day letterpress poster from VikDesign. I’ve actually been eating an apple a day for a few months now and wondered about doing something cool with the stickers. Each day peel the little variety sticker off of your apple and affix to a square on the poster. Sort of makes healthy fun, no?
