Good typography is always “in” with me, so I’m both happy and sad that it’s been a hit with the masses lately. This number tea towel set caught my eye in a big way the other day. Me thinks I may have a weekend project on my hands.
I’ve been really intrigued by bento boxes recently, and since I’m a huge fan of stainless this one caught my eye immediately. Of course it’s a great idea for food – lunch at the office, potluck meals, etc – but I also like the idea of using these food carriers to store other things like make-up and crafting supplies. A shelf lined with these guys would look so organized!
I remember seeing these Crayon Hearts in Living a few years ago and now it’s the only crafty project I think of when V-Day rolls around. Mainly because I’m dying to melt down old crayons. Actually, I think these guys might be fun to make any time of year in different shapes. Erase that, any time except the dog days of summer. (Unless you want a melty, waxy mess that is.) I have yet to go through with the plan, but one day …
I’m not a big whiskey drinker – bad experience, long story – but this DC Buzz looks yummy. Oe else I’m just a sucker for the sugared rim and cool glass.
Ingredients: – 2 1/2 parts Jim Beam Black bourbon – 1/4 part triple sec – 1/2 part fresh lemon juice – 1/2 part blueberry juice – 1/2 part lavender honey simple syrup – dash of orange bitters – sugar for rimming
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass rimmed with sugar.
The OMA Lemon Squeezer is so pretty and functional that I’d proudly display in on a kitchen countertop instead of hiding it away in a cupboard. If I owned one I’d be forced to drink a lot more fresh squeezed orange juice and lemon drop martinis.
I nearly forgot to post this – it’s National Pancake Day!!! Everyone knows that breakfast food trumps all others, so in honor of this most blessed day I bestow upon you Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. These babies just may be dinner tonight.
Today is soggy and cold which is a sad reversal of the 78º record high we experienced yesterday. Then it was windows down, hair blowing. Now it’s heater on, wipers going. Can’t wait to have some tea when I get home, although I swear I’ve had three cups at work this afternoon. I’m digging this Drop Stop Tea Strainer even though I don’t drink loose leaf tea all that often.
Simply pop off the lid of this sleek stainless steel tea straining device and fill the strainer with tea leaves. Hang the strainer over the side of your mug or tea cup for steeping. When you remove it, the spoon under the strainer will catch all drips and drops from getting on the counter or table.
Now this key holder is just clever. In fact, I think it’s the only one I’ve seen that I’d consider actually using. That’s saying a lot because I’m not even a use-a-decorative-bowl kinda gal for my keys. I’m more of a leave-em-in-my-purse-and-search-endlessly chick. Besides, I’d feel compelled to use it so that guests wouldn’t ceaselessly ask what it was for.
Como containers would be a crucial element in my dream studio. I can just imagine filling their drawers with supplies, inspirational treasures and things I’ll lose and forget about for months as I type.
The high today is 78º which seems ridiculous for early February. (Not to mention that tomorrow it’s only supposed to make it up to 32º with a chance of snow!) Today’s weather has got me thinking about car rides with the windows down, grilling out and summer drinks. One of the best things is a limeade from Sonic when the mercury starts to climb, so I was thrilled when I came across this recipe for Cherry Limeade Cupcakes a few weeks ago at Never Bashful With Butter. Can’t wait to try them out and this may just be the day.
