sake2me.

Sake is not to be taken lightly and can quite literally knock you off your feet. It’s been known to happen to a “friend” of mine after a few shots of the good stuff. One thing sake is not, in my opinion, is tasty. I’m thinking that if anything is going to change my mind it’s going to be sake2me. Made with premium Japanese sake and sweetened with pure cane sugar, it comes in Yuzu, Asian Pear, Ginger Mango and Green Tea flavors. Oh yeah, and the packaging is cool. Just enough Asian-influence to keep it fresh and modern without taking it to that ugly place called Overboard.

On the Rocks: 1621.

The 1621 looks like a great Get Ready for Thanksgiving drink, so rather than waiting until next Wednesday (Thanksgiving Eve) I thought I’d give you all a week to try it out. The sugar cube is a nice touch.

Ingredients:
– 1 part apple brandy
– 1 part apple juice
– 2 dashes blood orange bitters
– Ice
– 1 sugar cube
– 3 parts chilled Prosecco

Combine apple brandy, apple juice, and bitters in a cocktail shaker and top with ice; shake vigorously (about 20 times). Place sugar cube in the bottom of a chilled champagne flute, strain brandy mixture into the glass, and top with Prosecco. Serve.

Filigree Cupcake Wrapper.

I’ve seen these filigree cupcake wrappers several places by now and believe me, I realize I’m a little late to the party. Oh well though, because between my love of cupcakes and papergoods I can’t not post anything about them. They’re incredible! What an innovative, beautiful way to dress up something that we’re used to seeing a certain way (RE: in an unattractive pan liner).

:: via the first place I saw them black . white . bliss

laptopwallet butterfingers.

I’m not especially thrilled with the laptop sleeve I have, but I didn’t have to shell out any cash for it (work took care of that) and it gets the job done. The laptopwallet butterfingers by Working Class Heroes might be something that I could get used to though. Constructed out of 3mm grey felt and Austrian leather, the laptopwallet is designed to give you easy access to your macbook while snuggly holding it in place with the utmost protection. In case you hadn’t noticed, the wrist-strap also makes it really east to carry (butterfingers). And it looks pretty hot, too.

Number Plates.

Could these Number Plates by Christopher Jagmin be anymore bold, graphic and wonderful? The answer is no. They’re the perfect dinnerware for a typophile such as myself. I would smile and be giddy every single time I had to set the table. And I would set the table.

Fridge Magnet Bottle Opener.

A super-strong magnet anchors this bottle opener to your refrigerator which then opens bottles with ease. Besides being super cool and functional no one will ever again have to ask “Where’s the bottle opener?!?”, which is always a party foul.

Miami-Miam.

The Orbit bowls from Miam-Miam’s Mushroom Colection make me want to toss out my dishes. Don’t get me wrong, I think mine are great but these just make them seem so boring. The combination of white porcelain and futuristic design is gorgeous.

Then there are the Espresso Towers. The combo of stainless steel and porcelain work together to keep your beverage the perfect temperature. I love the rounded-square shape with those great saucers.

If anything these are at least guaranteed to make your cereal and coffee a real experience!

Bitch.

I had an amazing birthday weekend despite the very un-fun cold I was hosting. One of my very favorite gifts was the bottle of Bitch Grenache wine my best friend Linnzi surprised me with. The wine more or less named itself: the grapes are a bitch to grow for the winemakers at R Winery. Among design-y type things I adore are wine labels, and this one is incredibly simple and light-hearted (the ingredients are bitch, bitch, bitch, etc). Definitely girly and a great birthday present. (Thanks L-Dawg!)
