Happy Weekend.

I’m thrilled for this weekend to finally be here! First, there’s the annual OU/Texas Red River Rivalry in Dallas. Sadly I won’t be attending this year, but since the football teams are ranked #1 and #5 respectively, it should be an especially awesome match-up! Second, our office is closed Monday for Columbus Day, giving me an extra-long three day weekend which I plan on savoring every moment of.

This Weekend:
• watch OU/Texas game and participate in all subsequent activities that accompany the big event (RE: beer)
• buy pumpkins
• paint China cabinet
• buy large canvas to paint + hang over couch
• bake Brown Sugar Pound Cake
• laundry + groceries!
• weed rock garden
• start thinking about Christmas gifts… EEK!

Happy Weekend.

This weekend somehow managed to sneak up on me. (I’m thinking because I was sick and unconscious for most of Tuesday!) All I can think about at the moment is a nice nap as I try to get rid of the tail end of whatever I’ve got a touch of.

This Weekend:
• see Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist
• buy some pumpkins!
• Halloween costume shopping with C
• make Roxy’s annual vet appointment
• hang more things on the walls
• heal (both physically + mentally!)

Happy Weekend.

This is my goal this weekend. To get out of the funk I’ve been in for the past few weeks and be happy. I’m tired of feeling down, of feeling emotionally exhausted and physically worn out. So watch out happy, cause here I come. (NOTE: A valiant effort will be made, although positive results are not guaranteed.)

This Weekend:
• decorate for fall/Halloween
• chill at one of my fave dive bars with C & K
• make some sort of fall-ish dessert
• grocery shopping
• pay bills (UGH)
• buy stamps
• mail K, D & O birthday gifts
• clean up yard
• keep busy and be distracted
• try and get happy again

Happy Weekend.

Hello weekend! I will never understand how shortened work weeks feel so much longer. Fewer days usually means more work to keep you busy. Which in turn makes the days go by faster. But no. There must be some sort of physics equation that I missed for that one.

This Weekend:
• buy hoses and whatnot to hook up new washer + dryer
• proceed and do laundry
• start packing for trip next week (home to PA for 10 Year Reunion – eek!)
• buy at least one outfit for aforementioned trip
• look into renting a car in PA
• mentally prepare for trip (do you sense a theme here??)
• put up newer, cooler, more modern kickass house numbers
• hang more stuff on the walls – I promise pictures are getting closer to happening!
• get a badly needed oil change
• watch college football!

Happy {Labor Day} Weekend.

It would be very, very difficult for me to be any happier about this week being over. The three-day weekend is much needed.

This weekend is also – are you ready for this? – the start of college football season!!! Most of you probably don’t know that I’m an absolutely DIE HARD Oklahoma Sooners fan. I’m not originally from the state (that badge belongs to PA!), but live here now and attended OU for my BA. I’m sort of obsessed with college football in general and will be watching it all weekend. Yeah, I’m a dork.

This Weekend:
• OU v Chattanooga – tailgating in Norman (Boomer Sooner!)
• weeding (bleh)
• grocery shopping
• finish framing photos
• hang things on walls – for real this time
• watch as much college football as humanly possible

Happy Weekend.

After a week full of 70º days, we’re back to the usual 90-something degree weather that’s the usual suspect in Oklahoma for this time of year. The cooler weather was such a teaser for fall and, man oh man, am I ready!

Thanks for bearing with me through the lighter than usual posting this week. Some family issues came up (everyone is fine) that had to be dealt with, so I wasn’t strapped to my computer as usual. I promise next week will be back to normal with a few surprises along the way.

This Weekend:
• celebrate E’s birthday
• oil change (ugh)
• the movies with C
• make potato salad
• grocery shopping
• hang something on the bare walls of my house!
• watch the Olympic Closing Ceremonies (sigh)

Happy {08.08.08} Weekend.

I don’t know what’s up with this summer. It always seems like in the past things have gotten lazier, slower and more laid back. Not this year. Almost the opposite has happened: work is busier and life feels, well, faster. And I honestly don’t like it one bit! Does that mean that once summer is over and done with things are going to speed up even more and I’m going to have even less Me Time?

This Weekend:
• the Olympics, which could go unsaid but won’t!
• put together garage shelving
• finish organizing office/studio
• relinquish all holiday decor to aforementioned garage shelving
• grocery shopping
• get rid of final cardboard boxes

I couldn’t be happier to see the weekend! It’s not that this past week was bad, just one that didn’t seem to ever want to end. You know the type. The ones that string you along. Maybe it has something to do with this being the second consecutive week the temps have been in the triple digits. Ugh. I’m not built for this sort of heat!
