12 Task Lamps

Oyler Two Head Task Lamp // Crosby Schoolhouse Desk Lamp
Kennedy Table Task Lamp // Iroh Metal Adjustable 23″ Desk Lamp

I’ve found lighting has everything to do with how productive I can be in a day. If I don’t turn on a lamp in the room I’m working in before mid-afternoon, I definitely go slower as the sun drops in the sky. Most days this means switching on the task lamp that’s on my desk. Task lamps have a classy, literary look about them that’s especially welcoming during the winter months – here’s a hot dozen.

January always has me aching to get super organized.  – to go through everything in the house, pare down, and streamline. But one task I’m always horrible at is keeping up with is my stack of magazines, so I figure the least I can do is keep them in order in a rack in my living room or office. I have this one that’s currently out of stock, but I pulled together a bunch of other options that I love just as much.

All About the Face

Sometime last January I started something that I should have tackled years before: a legitimate skincare routine. As a teen I used the old standbys containing plenty of benzoyl peroxide, and in my 20s I relied on face wash and Oil of Olay. Hardly a regiment that was prepping my face for the years to come or protecting it against the elements encountered on a daily basis. But with the uncertainties looming in 2017 (R.I.P.) I needed to feel control over something, and that something turned out to be my face. According this article in the New Yorker I wasn’t alone either, scores of you turned to skincare as a coping mechanism. My biggest takeaways? That just because your skin may feel oily you still need to moisturize and that serums are worth their weight in gold. Nearly twelve months in and I’m feeling much better about my complexion and continue to search out products to add to my routine. What are your go-tos?

Sheet Pan Meals 15 Ways

Sheet pan – or one pan – meals serve a myriad of purposes this time of year. First, they’re easy and fairly healthy during a time when you’re *probably* indulging more than usual. Second, they’re a reason to use the oven and add extra heat to your home. (Can you tell mine has been freezing??) Third, there’s minimal cleanup involved which is honestly always plus in my book. I’m very much looking forward to trying out some of these recipes this winter!

Get Your New Year’s Eve Outfit in Check

If you’re someone who looks forward to doing it up big for New Year’s Eve, well, I know you’re already thinking about your outfit. While I try to get away with wearing pajamas to my friend’s party, you’ll be painting the town red in satin, sequins, and tulle and shuffling down sidewalks in shoes that are not at all winter weather appropriate… and I salute you. It wasn’t so long ago that I did the same, it’s just that these days I prefer not to fight the crowds on super busy nights out. What I do like is picking out what I might wear if I were braving it out there, and sharing all of those sweet finds (and SALES!) with you.
