I’m obsessed with this tutorial for poppy boutonnieres! They’d be lovely for a wedding or party, but I think I’m going to make a bunch and either A.) stick them in a vase or B.) string them along as a garland for my mantel. Yay!
With this being Labor Day weekend and the unofficial end of summer, the seasons are about to start changing. And with that a few things are getting rearranged around here as well.
I asked and you answered – Mad Props will now be included in my end-of-week Happy Weekend post. That means weekly roundups of goodness instead of monthly! It also means that the This Weekend: section of the post will be relocating itself to the Monday Goodness post. Got all that? Good.
And don’t forget to enter The Honey and Pig Shop giveaway before Tuesday morning at 9:00 CST! You have a change to win an adorably frilly hair piece.
Postal Press has gone live! Check out Alyson’s pretties
It’s nice to see a different take on the popular feather headband trend. Michelle Hartney of Recycled Rings paints watercolor feathers, then transfers them onto fabric for a decidedly more artistic version. And I love that you wouldn’t have to worry about ruining the feather like in the original concept!
Kate Gorham, the artist behind The Honey and Pig Shop, creates really fun, whimsical hair clips and beautifully colorful paintings. (I really, really love this one and this one!) You can also check out her blog, Honey and Pig, for some fun inspiration. And thanks to Kate, this week you can win this adorable yellow tulle and feather hair piece!

Loving the raw quality behind these necklaces by LA-based Mctega. Sarah McLellan and Kristina Ortega create one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by their pre-med/organic chemistry backgrounds. The end result is gorgeous and tough.

I just discovered Emersonmade last week through A Cup of Jo and am completely smitten. Every week more handmade flowers and jewelry pieces are added to her shop. Right now I can’t get enough of these huge lapel flowers! Lovely.
