Krochet Kids intl. + a Giveaway
I’ve been a big fan of Krochet Kids intl. – both their products and their mission – for some time now, so when they reached out to work together it was a fantastic fit. If you’re not familiar, they’re a non-profit apparel brand empowering women in developing nations to rise above poverty.
Every one of their products is first designed in California and then created in Uganda or Peru by the women Krochet Kids intl. employ, as well as provide mentorship and education for. Each piece is actually hand-signed by the woman who made it. You can even go further by looking her up on the Krochet Kids intl. site and leaving a message! I love these sorts of details that make it about the person behind the product. It doesn’t hurt that their goods are on trend and perfect for summer either.

Bekka Palmer
I especially love when an artist gravitates towards one medium or material and runs with it in every possible direction. Case in point, Bekka Palmer‘s hand-sewn rope necklaces and embroidered film series. Her necklaces are just about perfect for your summer wardrobe while the embroidered film is part of a larger project – 100 Days of Thread and Film.

Suit Up
Last week it hit me that Memorial Day Weekend, aka the Unofficial Start of Summer, was only a few weeks away and I needed a new swimsuit stat. I have a one-piece from last year tucked away in a drawer, but was never that in love with it and wanted something fresh. After a bit of searching I settled on a pair of black high-waisted bottoms and a floral printed long-line underwire bustier top. (A tip for busty girls: always try and buy swimwear according to your cup size.) Here are thirteen other favorites I came across during The Hunt.

London’s Darkroom is an independent design label and store changing up the generic and the bland. Their beliefs that good design should be accessible to all and that there is a basic human desire for beauty and comfort guide everything Darkroom creates and does. Everything is dynamic and if you’re not already familiar, I think you’ll enjoy their offerings immensely.

Stone & Cloth
Some girls love purses, I love bags. Especially ones founded on helping others. Matthew Clough came up with the idea for his company, Stone & Cloth, while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. After learning that his porter didn’t make enough money to send his children to school Clough returned home to L.A. and set up a business model for selling great bags and raising funds to help students in Tanzania. What a go getter!

Being part of a successful collaboration is one of the best feelings (you work well with others!), and it’s even better when it looks this good. Dusen Dusen and Highlow Jewelry teamed up after being mutual fans, doing a product swap with one another, then joking about selling a dress and necklace combo pack. After noticing people were already pairing their two brands together Ellen van Dusen and Sonya Gallardo decided to combine the two, creating this pattern laden collection – Dusen Dusen x Highlow Jewelry.
