Warm and cozy knit pieces, like these from Tiny Toadstool, definitely help freezing winter days a little more bearable. Bright red and teal has always been one of my favorite color combinations, it just looks so happy.
Only in the past week have I freed my mittens and gloves from their dark existence on the top shelf of my coat closet. And I’ve realized that most are either A. unraveling or B. really old. All the more reason for me to pick up a pair of Sara LaGrace’s mini paws. Well, that and the fact that they’re freakin’ adorable, which holds a lot of merit.
The Lillian Asterfield Collection by Nicole Deponte is made entirely from upcycled materials. And I have no doubt the pieces look better in their reincarnation than their previous life. Her necktie ascots are awesome paired with a simple white tee. {via Scoutie Girl}
mum & lark is a mother-daughter team who create the most exquisite scarflettes and cowls (among other things). I’d love to get my hot little hands on one! I’ve got to run. I’m busy imagining taking a walk down a leaf-strewn neighborhood street wearing the light grey one…
I think it would be safe to say that I want to be Shea of Old Soul, New Heart. She’s gorgeous (seen modeling below), has great style and all of these amazing revived vintage accessories at her disposal. Oh yeah, as well as being ridiculously creative and BFFs with her mom. Girl crush noted.
One of the pieces on my To Get For Fall wardrobe list is the perfect little black blazer (say that three times fast). And when I saw these ribbons from 8 9 3 all I could think about was how said blazer would now feel absolutely naked without one. Sigh.{via Shiny Squirrel}
I’m obsessed with this tutorial for poppy boutonnieres! They’d be lovely for a wedding or party, but I think I’m going to make a bunch and either A.) stick them in a vase or B.) string them along as a garland for my mantel. Yay!
It’s nice to see a different take on the popular feather headband trend. Michelle Hartney of Recycled Rings paints watercolor feathers, then transfers them onto fabric for a decidedly more artistic version. And I love that you wouldn’t have to worry about ruining the feather like in the original concept!
Kate Gorham, the artist behind The Honey and Pig Shop, creates really fun, whimsical hair clips and beautifully colorful paintings. (I really, really love this one and this one!) You can also check out her blog, Honey and Pig, for some fun inspiration. And thanks to Kate, this week you can win this adorable yellow tulle and feather hair piece!
