Check out the Miir Tumbler, a simple 12 oz. double-walled coffee/tea cup. But it’s so much more than that, each one provides a person in need with clean drinking water for an entire year and comes with a tracking bracelet that’s engraved with an identification number. Your personal ID number can be entered into the MiiR tracking system allowing you to see what project you helped fund, complete with interactive maps, photos, and testimonials from the water project site. The Miir Tumbler is being crowdfunded on Indiegogo right now if you’d like to become a supporter!
Valentine’s Day is for friends, family, kids… and yes, couples. Hands down I think the best part of any holiday is the hunt to find the perfect gift – something that’s equal parts surprise and want, personal and sweet, useful yet slightly extravagant. Not everything has to be clichéd hearts, boxes of chocolates, and red roses you know. So it’s lucky for us that Uncommon Goods has helped everyone out by amassing a fantastic selection of Valentine’s Day gifts for you, your love, and the both of you to enjoy together! See all of their available gifts right here.
FOR HIM:A technically drawn Dog Blueprint of his favorite pooch. // Custom Beach Cufflinks as reminder of that incredible beach vacation you two took together. // A Wood Bow Tie to dress things up for date night.

Donna Wilson can do now wrong, and her Fort Trays are the latest proof of that statement. The design is based on storybook medieval castles, the trays themselves are then made from laminated birch wood in Sweden. Three color choices offer a *POP* of color for these dreary winter months, great for displays and parties alike.
Louisa Taylor Ceramics are inspired by the rituals of dining and historical dining vessels. Louisa’s pieces are created with a vagueness in mind, to encourage sharing and relaxed eating instead of specific functions. I love that. Each individual piece is thrown in porcelain, while the subtle palette is chosen from hand-painted soup tureens.
January brings with it an almost unbearable urge to purge and organize, and I always seem to start in the kitchen. I go through the dishes and cookware to see what needs tossed or donated, then my (embarrassingly large) dish towel collection to decide which ones I’m no longer in love with. If I were in need of adding to my collection these eight would definitely be moving in to my cabinets!
A few weeks ago I was taking a look through the past year in posts and decided to put together a Top 40 collection for 2012. I had hoped to spread it out over a few days and organize everything a bit, but a family death and extended stay in Pennsylvania over the holidays set me back and I had to lump it all together. Thank you so much for continuing to help make this site such an amazing part of my daily life – here’s to 2013!
Baking Season! It’s here. And any baker worth his/her salt knows that organization makes for a smoother operation. I’m all about these Labeled Kitchen Storage Canisters from West Elm. I love the little spouts for easy pouring and the notched wooden lids for fast opening.
