Pretty lacy underthings are fun to talk about. What your pretty lacy underthings can turn into during the most un-fun week of the month or during a pregnancy is another story. Here is where Dear Kate has you covered in every possible way – the undies are incredibly comfortable and lined with three leak-resistant moisture wicking layers. (Also, they’re sexier than about 50% of my current lingerie drawer.) I own the pair on the bottom right and can’t wait to pick up a high-waisted pair to wear under dresses.
These fused glass baubles from Lone Mine remind me of my favorite pre-school snack – layered Jell-o! Each jewel is painstakingly formed first in a kiln and then ground by hand, featuring naturally occurring bubbles and a highly polished surface for a one-of-a-kind piece. I think my favorite is the one directly below, the remnants of a melted snowcone come to mind – yum!
A few weeks ago I was taking a look through the past year in posts and decided to put together a Top 40 collection for 2012. I had hoped to spread it out over a few days and organize everything a bit, but a family death and extended stay in Pennsylvania over the holidays set me back and I had to lump it all together. Thank you so much for continuing to help make this site such an amazing part of my daily life – here’s to 2013!
Artist Lily Stockman is lovely in every possible way, and now she’s partnered with her business-minded sister Hopie to create Block Shop. The story behind how this Indian textile company came together is truly inspiring and the scarves are nothing less than stunning. Each one is stamped individually with vegetable-based dyes onto Indian silk-cotton blend fabric. It’s virtually impossible to choose a favorite, but if pressed I’d go with the coral arrows. Well done, ladies!
These colorful necklaces (and bracelets) from Peppercotton – the team of Patrick Culpepper and Aurelia Cotton – are created from tube mesh and Swarovski crystals. Brilliant, creative use of materials and just the kind of piece to wear for taking a simple holiday outfit to the next level. (viaHoney Kennedy)
Shopping is awesome, and anything that makes shopping easier is also awesome by default.

December is here and with it the Season of Numerous Parties! Every modern lady knows it can be a daunting task, you don’t want to wear the same frock to every get together and you definitely don’t want to break the bank. And let’s not forget comfort, a big one on my list. I’ve put together three outfits from jewelry to dress to shoes that are sure to bring the wow factor this holiday season. And of course, no holiday party is complete with the perfect cocktail!
First up is your best friend’s dinner party! You want casual with that little something extra. And you also want to be able to kick off your shoes and curl up on the couch when everyone else has left for some gossipy girl talk.
The obligatory work party, it’s either three hours of hell or a night of trying to catch the eye of your office crush. (Sometimes both.) In either case, you want to be dressed to impress.
The ultra glam get together is where you really need to bring your A-game, but you already knew that. Sparkles? Check. Strappy heels? Check. Blingy hair accessory? Check. Maybe it’s a holiday gala, maybe a New Year’s Eve party, whatever the case go all out! It’s not every day a girl gets to wear head-to-toe sparkle.
