I’ve always loved a good hat, especially a cloche. Maybe because I find them most flattering on myself. (Or maybe they remind me of one of my favorites, The Great Gatsby.) I wish I wore them more, then I could justify snatching up that woven one for the dog days of summer. The Hat Shop has a beautiful selection, including a few top-notch fascinators. Last Saturday I was out and about and decided to reward myself (more on that later) with a new watch. The Nixon Time Teller P to be exact, my watch brand of choice. I bought my first as a 24th birthday gift to myself, an awesome skinny-strapped black leather double wrap with a rectangular electric blue face that they sadly no longer make. Shortly thereafter I stopped wearing a watch altogether because I was tired of it banging against my desk while I designed. But when I saw this shocking pink beauty with a silicone everything I knew I’d struck gold. It’s a men’s watch, which I prefer and comes in a great array of bright monotones. The thing is, I wonder if I’ll ever be able to get used to looking at my wrist for the time ever again…
After seeing this gorgeous canvas camera strap from Roberu I’m beginning to think it might be time to replace the guitar strap one I’ve had on mine since college. PS: I’ll take the camera, too! (via Black*Eiffel)
I’m always messing around with one project or another, but in the past few months I’ve been gung ho on DIY. I don’t know whether I’m just noticing the great projects out there more, or maybe following some new blogs that are chock full of ideas and inspiration. And you know what? I don’t care which it is because I’m feeling more creative than ever. I’ve already started a few of the projects below and thought you might like to take a shot at them as well.
The handmade leather bags and accessories from wander are feeding my love for the heritage movement. There’s just something so appealing about a simple, clean product that is well made and durable. I’m definitely feeling that laptop case up top. (via A Merry Mishap)
Crystal Bullet Necklaces from Unearthen. They ride the line between masculine and feminine perfectly, and I love the manmade vs. natural aspect as well. Supposedly you’ll be drawn to the one you’re meant to connect with.
Archival Clothing is the perfect example of the sort of style I prefer in everyday life – clean lines, subdued palette, classic feel. I honestly couldn’t find even on thing in their shop that I wouldn’t love to call my own. My bed is crying out for one of their MacAusland’s wool blankets and my shoulder would love a plain musette.
