The older I get the more I love lemony, citrusy flavors in my desserts. Like this Creamy Tangy Lemon Ice Cream. The perfect pairing for cake!
Posted In recipesMeet Bake It Pretty. A shop devoted to inspired baking supplies and adornments. Within the walls of her shop, owner Amanda has managed to include not only one but two of my vices: pretty packaging and nostalgic candy. The only question is which to order first!
Posted In kitchen, packagingJust a sweet reminder from little old me that you only have until Monday at noon CST to enter the Midwest Modern Girl giveaway! Win and score a set of twenty invitations of any design in Danielle’s shop. These are my favorite!
Posted In win itThis room is the ultimate everything. Comfort zone. Escape. Sanctuary. The worn, covered furniture, the gauzy sheers and the door thrown wide open with a cool breeze floating gently through the room. I’m pretty sure I could get a lot accomplished here… mainly naps!
Posted In house and homeI love how MayLuk Ceramics collection reflects the artist’s love of illustration and type. Great color choices and a whimsical feel that I love.
Posted In kitchenThe Madras is a cocktail that reminds me of going to the 7-11 as a kid and mixing all the different kind of pop in one cup. Only I’m willing to bet that the result here is much more palatable…
Directions:
Fill a Champagne coupe with a dome of firmly packed, finely shaved ice and mark the ice dome into 7 equal segments. Over them pour, one liqueur to a segment, a teaspoon each of the following in the order indicated: apricot liqueur, green Chartreuse, Bénédictine, crème de cassis, crème de cacao, anisette, and dark Curaçao. Over the top of the ice dome pour 1 tablespoon Cognac. Sip through straws, tasting each liqueur separately first, then stir the mixture and savor the blend.
Cookies and Cream has always been one of my two go-to ice cream flavors. This recipe looks ridiculously easy – why don’t more people own ice cream makers?!
Posted In recipesI’m a coffee lover right down to my very core, but I’d be lying if I said I loved Rewind‘s packaging for any other reason that the retro design. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure their products are equally amazing, but the package is definitely the big sell here. Oh, and the fact that their site mentions something about decaf being like kissing your sister is pretty awesome, too!
