Dish Towels

Dish-Towels-Design-Crush

January brings with it an almost unbearable urge to purge and organize, and I always seem to start in the kitchen. I go through the dishes and cookware to see what needs tossed or donated, then my (embarrassingly large) dish towel collection to decide which ones I’m no longer in love with. If I were in need of adding to my collection these eight would definitely be moving in to my cabinets!

Seed Money

Seed Money is definitely one of those things I wish I’d thought of first – it looks like the real thing (right down to the roll!) and grows colorful flowers and vegetables once tucked into the soil! It’s hand-illustrated and letterpress printed onto thick paper that’s embedded with the seeds. How fun would it be to leave a few in different places for unsuspecting people to find?! Jennifer Davis

Jennifer Davis-1-Design Crush

I don’t own a gun, but I’ve always loved the graphic geometric look of a shooting target. Jennifer Davis took things even further in an artsy direction with her quirky characters that make me want to do everything but shoot at them! You can purchase your own custom hand-painted paper shooting target in Jennifer’s Etsy shop. It’s only the second day of the new year and owning one is already on my wish list for 2013! A New Year, A New Design Crush!

Design Crush 2013-Design Crush

Well, did I surprise you?! I’ve been working with Cooper House since September on this shiny new version of Design Crush and it’s been tough to keep my mouth shut, but I thought New Year’s Day would be the perfect start for a new and improved site!

You’ll notice a few new additions that should make the site a little more intuitive. My favorites are the Share/Tweet/Pin icons that you’ll find at the bottom of each and every post. We stayed true to the drop down Categories and Archive menus in the sidebar and added icons for About and Press. You can also see we switched back to the white background. The dark grey was a fun experiment, but I’m a minimal girl at heart!

There may be a few glitches during the first day or so until everything gets ironed out, please feel free to let us know if anything isn’t functioning properly for you. I hope you love this new look as much as I do!

Hellooo 2013

Tait-Simpson-2013-Design-Crush

My plans for 2013:
• wear more sparkly shoes
• send more cards + letters
• go on more dog walks
• watch more movies
• draw + write more often
• buy more fresh flowers
• make more cocktails
• spend more time with friends

I’m anti-resolution, so this is my lighthearted attempt at keeping myself accountable for 2013 and beyond. Are you a resolution maker? Any good at it?
