Sky blends into land blends into… horse? Yes. What looks to be grasslands, plains, and more are actually the carefully photographed backs of horses. Lee Diegaard‘s Equuleus project is a single part of a longterm multi-media project entitled In Your Dreams (Horses) that explores the creature’s personality traits, as well as sensory processing, experiences between horse and human, and more abstract concepts.

Cosmetic cases are small artworks unto themselves, just looking at all of those little compartments filled with saturated color leave me ready to create. But Geneva-based artist Sylvie Fleury takes them to another level by painting shaped canvases that recreate their beauty on a larger scale. When it comes down to brass tacks, an artist’s palette and a makeup artist’s tools of the trade aren’t much different.
I’ve been thinking a bit about what’s on my own Christmas list this year and I wouldn’t mind one little bit if one of Gloria Landenberger‘s handmade ceramic masks showed up under the tree. Each one is made and assembled by hand in limited editions, the end result being glazed stoneware with a unique look.

If you live in Los Angeles, or more specifically Koreatown or Silver Lake, you might be familiar with the discarded treasures of anonymous artist Lonesome Town. Dumped sofas, chairs, and televisions are given a transformation into sad clowns before being left on the curb again for treasure hunters to find and re-home.
These pieces all work together to create one incredible table full of glass, metal, and wood with cool undertones. But they also make great additions to whatever you already own because of their neutral simplicity. (Forever my go-to pieces.) Similarly the decor pieces I lean towards are transitional, great for fall and Thanksgiving but just as seasonal as we move into December’s holidays and beyond!
