Join the two halves of the Roll & Mix together and they form a rolling pin, separate them and you have a mortar to grind things and a bottle to hold oil. Multi-functional design, I so get you.
Forget the polite fork-with-tablespoon way of eating spaghetti, check out this conceptual project – the Tulip Spaghetti Fork. So much more elegant and refined.
Pup Tent is a teepee-shaped structure designed by Slade Architecture that’s constructed out of water-jet cut laminated layered plywood. There are openings in the front for access and on the top for air circulation and a little bit of light. Not only do I hope these will one day be available for purchase, I also hope there are different sizes. Piper would love it.
Break Soap by Dave Hakkens is some kind of brilliant. Natural hand soap is formed into a block with different sized pieces, the dirtier your hands are the bigger the piece you break off. And since you don’t ever touch the entire block, everything is kept nice and hygienic. One block equals roughly ninety hand washes.
Sound is an art, so I think it naturally matters what we’re listening to it through. You can pick up a portable stereo on the cheap, or you can invest in something a little more awesome that’s also going to be a great conversation piece. Something you’re likely to keep around for years and years to come that’s going to be a mainstay in your home. I live and breathe through my Bose SoundDock, but there are so many great options out there. What are you listening through?
“The idea was to excite people about typograqphy by giving them the ability to choose what font their scrabble set would come in. The set would come in the font of your choice or with an assorted font pack. The scrabble board and interior box are made out of solid walnut, and the exterior box is made from birch. Each of the 6 board pieces is magnetized to fit together perfectly and each piece slides nicely into its respective slot in the box and is secured by interior magnets as well. The interior of the exterior box as well as the bottoms of the 6 board pieces are lined with cork, to protect them while in use.”
