Period Clock

Period Clock-1-Design Crush

 

When someone finds a new way to translate the passage of time I’m inevitably intrigued. This concept – Period Clock – by artist Tamer Köşeli is just that, a minimalist approach to time that functions with the help of two rotating circles. A little tricky to read at first, but easy once you catch on. It even glows in the dark when the lights go out. (via The Fox Is Black)

Type(Chess)Set

I don’t know how to play chess, but the type(chess)set makes me want to add it to my life list immediately. The design is based on chess notations (K=king, R-rook, etc.) and set in Champion Lightweight type and I think I’d like it on my coffee table whether I can play the game or not. (via Design Milk)

Seed Money is definitely one of those things I wish I’d thought of first – it looks like the real thing (right down to the roll!) and grows colorful flowers and vegetables once tucked into the soil! It’s hand-illustrated and letterpress printed onto thick paper that’s embedded with the seeds. How fun would it be to leave a few in different places for unsuspecting people to find?! Huset Pot Guards

 

I’ve been waiting for something like the Huset Pot Guard literally since the day I started cooking, I can’t even begin to estimate how many times a pot has boiled over onto my stovetop. And there’s nothing I hate more when it comes to household chores than cleaning crevices on a stovetop. These little guys keep the perfect gap between lid and pot, allowing heat and steam to escape. Choose between the laser cut wooden likenesses of a hedhog, owl, or moose. (via Tasteologie)
