June

Breakfasts of Noosa yoghurt, uncooked oatmeal, and blueberries.
So many hazy hot days.
Plenty of hydrangeas stolen from my mom’s yard.
Lazy days spent with these two.

Fostered this little guy – Snoopy – for three weeks. He goes to his forever home today. Sniff.
Discovered the simple awesomeness of avocado toast.
Paid too much for delicious Rainier cherries!
Started my first ever garden.

Chapeau

Crushing on Chapeau, a set of porcelain serving and storage bowls that come with two different tops that can be interchanged. Their spaceship-y shapes are much more aesthetically pleasing than your everyday Tupperware! (Coming soon to Alma’s Room.)

Daré alla Lucé

Ethereal. Ghostly. Surreal. Daré alla Lucé is all of these things and more to the casual observer. I love this series of slightly altered photos by artist Amy Friend.

“Through small deliberate interventions, I altered these vintage images, allowing light to pass through them. (After all, photographs are made possible with light.) In a literal and somewhat playful manner, I aimed to give the photographs back to the light, hence the title of the series, Daré alla Lucé, an Italian phrase used to describe the moment of birth.”

Stampo Cups

Notice anything curious about these Stampo Cups? They were each kicked in the bottom with a boot during the molding process, leaving an imprint of the sole. These colorful glasses by Niels Cosman are each hand-formed and entirely unique, not bad for getting kicked in the butt!

Food Type

Barcelona-based artist Nuria Bringué Bergua is the creative mind behind Food Type, a typography book on healthy eating. Bergua cut food into uppercase letters, then photographed them and designed seven books based around the food pyramid and healthy eating. (Worth noting, none of the letters were retouched after photographing!)
