The Schott Swiesel Bar Special Tritan Saucer Champagne glass is pretty much perfect. It’s the champagne glass I picture being used in old Hollywood films where the ladies call everyone “Dahling” and the gents walk around with cigars between their teeth while bubbly sloshes onto the carpet. In other words, perfect for New Year’s.
With the holiday season only days away and parties on the horizon these personalized stir sticks couldn’t be more perfect. Nothing like a little monogramming to make it look like you went the extra mile for your get together. You can choose from three styles of wooden stirs – oval, rectangle and round – and several monogramming options.
I love aprons, but I don’t own a one. Maybe it’s a personal rebellion against being all Donna Reed-esque. The Haute Hostess Apron seems to be something Donna would gasp and sheild her face from which is why I love it with all my heart.
These Illusion wine glasses are genius! I love the use of negative space and being able to watch the floating wine glass slowly disappear as you drink.
Okay, so I don’t smoke. And, happily, I don’t even have many friends who do the dirty deed anymore. But if I were all cool and European-like I would definitely need to own the revolving ashtray by Arne Jacobsen. One minute you see the ashes, then with a twist of the finger – voila! – they’re gone. So Scandinavian chic.
I adore Matthew Mead’s advice and ideas, only it makes me sad that he updates just once a season. I want more. The Fall version was released recently with some tasty looking recipes for chifon pies, as well as autumn style tips and decorating ideas for Halloween and Thanksgiving. The spork is highly underated as a utensil. I love that these Moscardino sporks by Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni are sans handle. Seems like they’d make eating lunch a little like having tapas, but without the “Gross, now I have to go wash my hands” factor. You can pick up a set of twenty-five for $20 from the MoMA store.
