These salt dough ornaments bring back the memories. Big time. When I was little my mom and I used to make these. Snowmen and wreaths (with the garlic press!) were our specialties. We called it ‘Makey Dough’ because I would ask “Can we makey dough?” Loving these more advanced snowflake ornaments! {via katy elliott}
I mentioned possibiliTrees last December and still can’t get over their brilliant architectural design. Not only is this tree a great alternative to real and faux varieties, but also really easy to fold up and store. A major bonus in a world where square footage is highly valued. Each tree is handmade with care by the family business in Minnesota and comes in 2, 3 and 6″ models.
This modern nativity set by artist Oliver Fabel was the very first thing I bookmarked for the holidays this year. Each piece is handcrafted and available in German as well as English. Perfect for the household that wants to celebrate the meaning of Christmas in a modern way.
The end result of this Pipe Cleaner Garland project is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I wonder if I have to patience and hand-eye coordination to pull through til the end? {via Design*Sponge}
I’m thrilled for Thanksgiving this year. Not just the food, food, FOOD or the mad dash shopping on Black Friday (which I really do love, by the way), but the tradition. I’ve never missed a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in my lifetime, so that’s first up. Then I’ll be making cranberry parfaits to enter into our family’s yearly Thanksgiving Dessert Contest. Sometime in the early afternoon I’ll head over to my mom and stepdad’s house. My mom and I will cook and browse the sales ads to formulate our plan of action for Friday. There will be lots of football watched and maybe even a little bit of Christmas decorating done since we’ll all be together. Finally, that evening I’ll roll myself to my car and home, with a bag full of leftovers to sustain me throughout the weekend. What’s the best part of your Thanksgiving Day?

I think this flowing conglomeration of paper doilies and thumbtacks looks like a lovely snowstorm drifting across the wall. And although that’s not this project’s intended interpretation, I think that’s exactly what it’s going to be when I recreate it in my entryway for the holidays! {via Apartment Therapy}
I’ve already written out my Christmas cards. There, I’ve said it. It’s just that once Thanksgiving shows up everything seems to snowball, free time included. It’s all spent shopping for the perfect gift or attending yet another ugly Christmas sweater party. You know how it goes, I know you do.
But I always feel a touch of remorse once I see all of the beautifully designed holiday cards, so I bookmark them all for possible lovelies to send out next year. And of course, to share with you all. Over the next three days I’ll be posting a three-part roundup of cards from my very favorite shops. (Note: I’ll only be posting one per shop, so if you like what you see click on the link to check out more!) I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and maybe even find the ones you just have-to-have!
