Chris Earl‘s upbringing in Papua New Guinea instilled in him a respect for creating objects to fulfill a purpose, create a story, and build community. He puts it all into play in his line of furniture, tabletop, and ceramics where that trifecta is the guiding light. Functional, graceful, and timeless.

Like to change up your decor as often as you change your clothes? South Korean industrial designer Sohyun Yun has created a chair – Layer – made out of clear acrylic. It’s entirely customizable, inspired by our consumerist society where people buy things then quickly discard them once something new comes along.

I definitely had a beanbag chair growing up, it was pastel green to match one of the colors in the tribal design of my comforter. (Eep.) And to be honest I wouldn’t mind having a few for extra seating as an adult. I especially love these ones from SACKit, because a bit of a back would definitely come in handy in my mid-30s and the addition of a footrest makes them seem extra special.

Itz’ana Home is a sweet little capsule collection of curated home goods in collaboration with Samuel Amoia. Each piece is handmade by local Central American artisans, balancing craftsmanship and simplicity, representing a pairing of Belize’s rich heritage and modern geometric shapes. (Those screens tho.)

Somewhere along the way, CB2 has become less the little sister to Crate & Barrel and more the standout. The offshoot has become a destination for affordable modern design that I find myself clamoring for and ogling. CB2’s spring collection is incredible, full of bold modern lines and lots of metallics.
