Unraveling a Letter.
A sweet idea for sending an unexpected message to your valentine.
Posted In holidays, make it, valentine's dayA sweet idea for sending an unexpected message to your valentine.
Posted In holidays, make it, valentine's dayI know I’m not the only one out there who’s noticed a surge in subway art over the past few months. And I’m obviously not the only one who’s toyed with the notion of creating some of my own. Just look at this step-by-step tutorial from Ashley at lil blue boo and tell me you’re not going to be running out to the hardware store to pick up wood and spray paint this weekend. {via Shelterpop}
For the second time this week I’m mad at myself for having been ahead of the game and having my valentines finished. To me doilies normally seem overly stuffy and remind me of crocheting, but these Doily Valentines somehow manage to look chic and clever. I think it’s the decidedly un-Valentine’s Day colors that help get it done. (Note to Self: Ditch the pink and red next year.)
Posted In holidays, make it, valentine's dayI’m the first to confess to my love/hate relationship with The Martha, but I also know when it’s time to man up and admit she and her staff have done something noteworthy. I’m completely smitten with this series of projects on how to make handmade jewelry and accessories. Here are a few standouts that I can’t wait to try my hand at…
Posted In jewelry, make it, wear itI’m a sucker for all white anything. Currently there’s a white wreath ‘o sticks on my front door from Christmas that I just can’t bear to take down. I’m thinking this felt flower winter wreath would be a good middle of the road for this living-in-winter-but-looking-forward-to-spring time of year. I love the pops of neon thread in a big way. And guess what? You can make your own.

Posted In downloads, make it, monday goodnessI bookmarked this idea for DIY paper flowers months ago and while hunting for something else came across it today. Little pops of color are most welcome when the days are foggy and dreary like they have been this week. Looking forward to trying my hand at this project very, very soon. {link + image via Creature Comforts}
Posted In make itInspired by French apothecary packages, these labels are printed on newsprint to mimic the faded look of the originals. (Although I believe tea-staining would work wonderfully as well.) You can download them to make your own for some sweet Valentine’s Day treats!
Posted In holidays, make itIt felt great to get back to regular blogging this week after almost a month of haphazard posts. Thanks for waiting out the flu and two Christmases with me!
