LSTN Headphones proves a great point, why are so many instruments made of wood and headphones are not? The recycled wooden chambers in these brilliantly constructed headphones lend a warm and natural sound that produces more resonance than plastic or metal. The ebony, cherry, and beech woods come from furniture scraps that would otherwise be discarded and are never dyed. You can choose from three different styles – The Troubadour, The Fillmore, and The Bowery. Oh, and one more thing that will make you fall even more in love. Every time a pair of LSTN Headphones are purchased, all proceeds go towards their charity partners for the deaf and a child with hearing difficulties is helped.
Some things never go out of style, they just seem to have a staying power that doesn’t ever say goodbye. As in luxury. That quality of sleek sophistication that makes others stop and take notice, things that you’ll hang onto for years to come. The thing is, there are different ways to define luxury. Maybe it’s the ubiquitous form-fitting LBD, or an outfit that makes you feel so much like yourself that you don’t ever want to take it off. Perhaps something you love so much you take it with you everywhere. I’ve created a few looks inspired by something equally sleek and luxurious – the HP Spectre XT Touchsmart Ultrabook™. What’s your idea of luxury?
And our idea of luxury doesn’t stop there! Just like Project Runway contestants show off their personal fashion every week, HP and Intel invite you to Pin Your Style. Want to participate in The HP + Intel + Project Runway Pin Your Style Contest? It’s easy and I promise you – worth it!
Pin a photo of the HP Spectre XT Touchsmart Ultrabook™ via the Pin It button on the Pin Your Style contest page. Then build a board that represents that week’s theme (in this case luxury). Check out the weekly Pinsetter images on the site for inspiration.
Submit your board’s URL into the site to enter, then share your board with friends to earn the most votes!
Win prizes like an HP Spectre XT Touchsmart Ultrabook™ and a gift card to bring your style to life by getting the top votes for your board.

We got a ton of rain last week, and it finally started to smell like spring. That means Memorial Day and grilling season can’t be far off! I love a good diagram and can just imagine serving some burgers to friends on these clever Grillmaster Serving Trays. (Note to self: Refill propane tank)
What happens when two shops – one in France, the other in Boston – both with cult followings team up for a collaboration? No, the universe does not implode but I get very excited. Astier de Villatte (known for homespun plates and candles) and PATCH NYC (specializing in home decor and accessories) have partnered for a series of plates and notebooks featuring whimsical drawings. Such a natural project for these two, you can check out the entire collection right here.
I have a slight addiction when it comes to covers for my various devices, and my latest crush is on DODOcase’s Durables line. Each case provides protection, utility, and a great design that’s made right here in the USA. The waxed canvas and leather accents are beautifully timeless touches that make these cases a great fit for guys and gals. And though I’m an Apple girl through and through, I love that DODOcase makes sure to thoroughly run the gamete with just about every device you can think of.
It seems like all of my latest shop obsessions are focused on the bigger picture. Instead of selling only one artist’s work or a single company’s goods, they’re purveyors of not only their own work but the work of those they admire. An independent artist community vibe – quite the dichotomy! The latest is Baba Souk, full of color and creativity. (And pssst… there’s a fun Baba Souk giveaway happening over here!)
I’m popping in with a rare weekend post because we’re moving into the homestretch of our Urban Decor themed sale on Joss & Main! With over 100 handpicked items (from moi) to choose from, it just wouldn’t be fair not to share my favorites…
A few of my original favorites are already sold out – you people have amazing taste! – but it was easy to find replacements because I honestly want it all. Everything in my sale skews toward mid-century modern, but that doesn’t mean a piece or two wouldn’t fit into your space. No matter the style. When everything in a room feels too matchy it can get boring, the only real requirement for making something work is loving it!
Be sure and pop over to the sale before Monday morning when it closes, and also take a peek at Joss & Main’s blog Plume where there’s a little post about Design Crush and my fast and loose design rules.
You might’ve noticed that our second post for the day is a bit late, but we have a good reason. Design Crush’s Urban Decor Curators Collection with Joss & Main is kicking off as of right now! Huzzah!
A lot of my inspiration came from the loft Apartment 34‘s Erin Hiemstra first moved into when she and her husband relocated from Seattle. Erin has an amazing eye and the clean lines, neutral palette, and mix of textures sucked me right in.
The beautiful shots of Erin’s loft were taking by photographer extraordinaire Bonnie Tsang. Thanks so much to both of these lovely ladies for allowing us access to the incredible photography and inspiring space!
Our sale will be live for three days only, so hop on it fast! You have until Sunday, March 31st at 11am EST. If you’re not already a Joss & Main member and want to skip the wait you can do just that by clicking right here. Happy shopping!
