Gingerbread not for the faint of heart, this take on the classic includes dark molasses, black pepper and Chinese five-spice powder. A darkly delicious treat is the result.

Posted In recipesIf you read the olive oil descriptions on the O de Oliva site it sounds like a selection of fine wines.
“It has a very smooth taste, with hints of almonds and green apples.”
“It is a fruity oil, smooth yet persistent, with a long-lasting aroma, both on the palette and in the memory.”
“Fruity taste of ripe olive with a light taste of apple, slightly bitter and spicy.”
And the bottles look like something you’d proudly display in your kitchen with their simple, lovely design.

Ginger Cosmos are incredibly potent, so don’t say I didn’t warn you! The ginger and cranberry pair together nicely for a drink that’s hard to turn down.
Ingredients:
– 2 cups cranberry juice
– 1 1/2 cups vodka
– 1/4 cup triple sec
– 1 cup Domaine de Canton
Combine ingredients in a pitcher and stir to combine. Serve in martini glasses with a garnish of orange zest if desired. Makes one pitcher.

Can you even imagine the possibilities of Gingerbread Cookie Cups?! My mind is having a difficult time wrapping itself around the idea. In a good way, of course.

Posted In recipesI waited. And then waited some more. And now that February is here I’ve officially jumped on the V-Day bandwagon.

Does it make singles feel crappy? Yes.
Is there tons of cute stuff everywhere? Yes.
This year that last one won out. Take a look at all the pretties out there!

I harbor a fascination with ginger. I love its versatility. How it can be sweet and spicy at the same time, yet how the fresh stuff smells citrusy. Enjoy Ginger Week!
Let’s kick it off with something that’s sure to be tasty but remains a little unexpected: Ginger Cheesecake.

Posted In recipesIt’s safe to say that I’m one of the biggest Steelers’ fans in Oklahoma. And come Sunday I’ll be making a fool out of myself – sporting my Jerome Bettis #36 jersey and Terrible Towel of course – at my friend B’s Super Bowl party. But we all know attire is only half the battle, the food is equally important. That’s why I’ve rounded up five of my favorite go-to game day eats. Take a look-see…
Oatmeal Banana Cake that’s slightly unexpected.
(Here’s a hint: the oatmeal is in the crust, not the cake!)
