The Daily Eat: Asiago Potatoes.

I think I could probably sit down to these asiago potatoes as a main course – screw the carbs. They also seem like a great idea for an appetizer though. You know, if you’re on the Anti All Carb Dinner Wagon which I’m clearly not a passenger on.

Hicks Pendant.

Someday I’m going to need a house with many, many rooms in order to accommodate the massive light fixture collection I hope to acquire! My latest crush is on the Hicks Pendant. In my mind’s eye this one would be headed for the bathroom or a nice, longish hallway where I could line up a few in a row. Lovely!

Activate.

Check out Activate.

Apparently vitamins lose their potency while sitting in water – who knew? Activate physically separates the two until the instant you open the bottle. That’s the moment they’re released from a specially designed moisture-resistant chamber hidden in a compartment in the underside of the cap. As of now there are four flavors available (Vitamin = Fruit punch, Immunity = Orange, Antioxidant = Berry, Energy = Lemon lime) and Activate is only in retail locations on the coasts. Hopefully they’ll spread like wildfire because I’m eager to try the functionality of this packaging out.

The Daily Eat: Turkey Gyros.

No matter what part of the country you’re from or how you pronounce the word one thing is for sure – gyros are the bomb. (And yeah, I just said “the bomb” without even a hint of irony!) I’m really excited to try this turkey version. Don’t miss the included recipe for homemade pita bread!

The Daily Eat: Apple Cake.

I’m a cake kinda gal at heart and the description of this apple cake being not too sweet, moist and simple definitely caught my attention. Especially since I’m occasionally known to either A.) scrape icing off of my slice and B.) bake a cake and skip the icing altogether. Enjoy!

DIY Oilcloth Placemats.

I haven’t gone on a picnic in years which is really sad. But I only like them when they’re well-planned and thought out and that takes, well, time. I’m thinking that these little DIY oilcloth placemats that hold both your silverware and napkin might give me the excuse I need to head out to the closest park and share some food with the ants! Check out the full tutorial to make a set of your own.
