Hotel Boxes.

The hotel box is genius. You purchase the boxes collapsed and after folding in a few choice places and adding a pair of rubberbands – voila! – instant box that sort of resembles an enlarged bag of popped microwave popcorn. The thing is they’re not only boxes. Stack them up to ten high for stackable shelves or use joint supporters and hang them as wall shelves. End table. Bathroom caddy. You name it. The dust lid that snaps onto the front makes them perfect for display purposes. So choose one of the sixteen available patterns and go at it.

Cranberry Eggnog Tart.

I’ve already chosen the dessert I’ll be making for my family’s Fourth Annual Thanksgiving Dessert Contest. That’s right, complete with score cards and everything. So far I’ve whipped up the likes of Pumpkin Cheesecake, Chocolate Bread Pudding (a winner) and Cranberry Trifle. This year’s entry will be the Molasses-Spice Cake with cream cheese icing and brown sugar glaze I mentioned in September.

While searching for the perfect dessert I found this Cranberry Eggnog Tart which was a close contender and will probably be made during the course of the holidays. It looks delicious and got wonderful reviews.

UPDATE! My molasses-spice cake came in with an unprecedented perfect score! (cue ‘We Are the Champions’)

Buddha Bowls.

As of last Sunday I am the proud owner of two shiny white Buddha Bowls. I fell in love with their ergonomic design and dual functionality – is it a bowl or a cup? The answer is both. I can’t wait to use them for some soup or hot chocolate.

Stir It Up a Little.

With the holiday season only days away and parties on the horizon these personalized stir sticks couldn’t be more perfect. Nothing like a little monogramming to make it look like you went the extra mile for your get together. You can choose from three styles of wooden stirs – oval, rectangle and round – and several monogramming options.

Sprinkles Cupcakes.

It’s a cupcake kind of afternoon – meaning that I need one asap. Since I have no way of making that happen I’m feasting on a little eye candy via the famed Sprinkles Cupcakes. Right now they have a yummy selection of fall flavors in addition to their normal twenty that are making me drool. How about milk chocolate, pumpkin, ginger maple or orange cranberry? *YUM* And pretty easy on the eyes, too.

Thanks to Williams-Sonoma you can whip up a dozen in your home. You’ll even receive the confectioners’ “dots” that are Sprinkles’ signature touch.

Pantone Autumn.

I’m fairly obsessed with Pantone Autumn by Chris Glass that was created after collecting leaf samples from a single tree. I wish he would do a print because it’s gorgeous. The perfect designer’s wreath.

Window Adhesive.

After using this window adhesive it will totally look like you have an etched glass window. I love the privacy it offers for apartments. The adhesive is available in seven patterns on 37 x 52″ rolls, just add water and adhere. When the time comes it’s supposedly very easy to remove. It might also be a quick fix-up for glass-fronted cabinets. Love it.

Tree Branch Curtain Rod.

I really love this Tree Branch Curtain Rod, even though I haven’t latched on to the Tree Branch Trend hook, line and sinker quite yet. Seems like an easy enough project that’s customizable and wouldn’t be a massive time or financial commitment. I love projects like that because when you get tired of them and want a change there isn’t as much hesitation.

Here are the steps to success:
1. Find a tree branch slightly wider than your window trim.
2. Use pruning shears to remove long twigs, but leave a few stubs for character.
3. Spray-paint the branch or leave it natural.
4. Choose tie-top curtain panels, which allow you to adjust for the curves of the branch—no clips or rings needed.
