Rice Pudding 10 Ways

Rice pudding is one of those things that you either love or hate, most people point to texture as being the tipping point. It happens to be one of my Mom’s favorite treats, one that she shared with me early on. I never really stopped to consider there being different varieties aside from straight-up vanilla, but it turns out there’s a whole world of rice pudding out there waiting to be discovered. Here are ten recipes to get you started.

When it comes to your February love game there are plenty of ways to go, but the most important is probably food. You know the old adage, the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach? But no worries because I’ve got you covered with a dozen recipes for breakfast in bed and another dozen for after dinner dessert. Go forth into thine kitchen!

Moscow Mules 10 Ways

One of my only goals for the new year is to perfect a kickass Moscow mule, the classic is new(ish) to me and it’s quickly become one of my favorite cocktails. They just go down so smooth and the shiny copper mugs make drinking one all the more fun. I’ll keep you all posted with my progress, but for now here are ten variations that I’d love to try while doing my own (ahem) research and here are some of the best ginger beers to use.

Cinnamon Rolls 10 Ways

Cinnamon rolls are the definition of holiday breakfasts to me. Maybe it has to do with my aunt, who used to always make a fresh batch for Christmas mornings (which reminds me – I need her recipe!). There’s just something so satisfyingly indulgent and comforting about peeling one apart layer by layer and unleashing all of that delicious gooeyness. I’m drooling now, so I think it’s best I just send you the way of these ten amazing recipes…

you’re invited to: Christmas Brunch

Christmas-Brunch-Design-Crush

A few years ago my family switched to having a Christmas Day brunch in place of dinner. While I miss the big dinner with all of the trimmings, this seems to suit us all just fine. It’s always at my Grandma’s house, but if it were at mine it might go a little something like this. Lots of brights and metallics and an air of fun about it all. Lots of carbs to pick at while each person opens their gifts. And of course dessert and some alcohol to lighten the mood. Wanna come over? (Imaginary Christmas 2013, Imaginary Holiday Appetizer Party)

My Grandma turned 90 this year and has finally agreed to relinquish cookie making duties to me this Christmas. (She’ll still be making her famous-among-hundreds nut rolls, however.) I’ve done a few cookie swaps over the years, and I have to admit they make the cookie task much more interesting. I love trying other peoples’ tried and true family recipes, and I love the variety that comes with a good ‘ol fashioned swap. Do you have a go-to?
