Gum Election.

Gum Election is a guerilla art project which started in New York City in October 2008. It should encourage people to vote on November 04th and also not to spit out their chewing gums carelessly on New York Cities already dirty streets. If you want to bring the Gum Election to your city or your office, print out the poster, put it up and send me pictures of it.

Love this! Wish I would have seen it sooner – OKC would have been plastered!

Presidential Pumpkins.

As everyone should know by now the presidential election is November 4th, only four measly days after Halloween. So if you’re feeling extra passionate about your candidate why not carve their likeness into your jack-o-lantern this year? Download templates for Obama, Biden, McCain and Palin right here.

The US of A.

I looove me some geography. I’m a freak at knowing where states are located as well as their capitals. I know, I know. Thanks to Freshie & Zero (who has the exact opposite problem I might add) you can download this super fantastic map of the good ‘ol USA for free. It fits just right on an 8.5 x 11″ sheet of paper and I dare say it’s perfectly framable. Thanks Freshie!

Monday Goodness: Nookey Ration Card.

Happy Monday all!

This Nookey Ration Card from 16 Sparrows is making me smile. Download your free PDF version here. For those of your not in the know, “tearing one off” and “nookey” are both 1930s references to *gasp* sex.

PS: Thanks to everyone for their well-wishes last week when I was under the weather. It was a rough weekend, but I think I’ve finally got the upper hand!

You Are Beautiful.

Ever since Ez at Creature Comforts posted about the You Are Beautiful site last week I haven’t been able to get it out of my head! By using installations, stickers, collaborations and exhibitions You Are Beautiful manages to make a small difference in peoples’ every day lives by creating moments of positive self-realization.

“We’re just attempting to make the world a little better. Advertising elicits a response to buy, where this project elicits a response to do something. The attempt with You Are Beautiful is to create activism instead of consumerism. You Are Beautiful uses the medium of advertising and commercialization to spread a positive message. Projects like these make a difference in the world by catching us in the midst of daily life and creating moments of positive self realization.”

Who wouldn’t love to come across an image like the one above on your way to or from work? It would at least make the day a little more memorable. You can even upload your own images displaying the phrase or one of their stickers to be posted. Download a PDF to print your own stickers here.

Clip-Art Calendar.

Leave it to The Martha to come up with a downloadable (is that even a word?) clip-art desk calendar. Well-designed since we would expect nothing less from her. Tip: Print it at 85% to get it to fit into the jewel case properly.

For those of you who harbor a secret (or not so secret) obsession with desk calendars like me, I’ve been updating the Round Up: 2008 Calendars as I fall in love with more and more.

A Kick in the Pants.

These are hilarious and I totally needed it this morning! You know how some people just suck? Really bad? Here are three things that can help you feel better about it. Even if it’s just a little bit.

The first is from (clever address, no?). Sick of a car taking up two spaces on the street? How about a car too close to yours? What about the car at the mall parked diagonally? Now you can do something about it. Simply download a notice and place it on the car’s windshield. The owner of the vehicle will be informed of their asshole status as well as the proper tips to improve their poor parking techniques. It’s time to put an end to asshole parking, or at least to make fun of it. The site is pretty clever, too, you can download the notices as well post and view notices in action.

The second is from Coudal’s Cell Phone Etiquette campaign. We’ve all had that awkward moment when we overhear someone’s personal cell phone conversation. Now we have the power to stop it. You can download them here.

The third is the all-encompassing Douche Card from Orange32. Stock up. 25 cards for $5.
