My memories of box braids are neon in color and plastic in texture. I’m thinking I need to replace them with the micro-suede and washer variety. Thanks for coming up with yet another project I can’t wait to conquer, Honestly… WTF!
I love these pieces from Nervous System. Jesse Louis-Rosenberg and Jessica Rosenkrantz find their inspiration from from science, art, and technology and result ends up looking incredibly organic. Practically as though the jewelry is part of your body.
Type nerd alert! Check out the Le Bijou Alphabet Ring collection from Axylo. At first glance it’s just another chunky ring, but look a little closer and it’s a letter. All twenty-six are available in different finishes and materials.
Ever since making these necklaces for some friends I’ve been flat-out obsessed with embroidery thread. My only tryst with it in the past was short-lived, in the form of 6th grade bracelet making. In fact, some of the thread I used on my necklaces was from the 6th grade. (No joke. It’s in a box with my name on it.) All of a sudden the possibilities seem limitless.
It’s safe to say that I’ve followed Sarah Fox’s shop, cursive design, for some time now because I honestly can’t recall when her work first popped up on my radar. The spring/sumer 2011 lookbook was just released and I’m loving it all, Sarah has such talent when it comes to juxtaposing materials and colors. (I also like her blog lots.)
Five years ago for Christmas my stepdad gave me a set of diamond studs set in white gold, and I think I can just about count the number of times I’ve taken them off on my fingers and toes. I have small ears and they’re the perfect size, nothing too flashy, and they go with absolutely everything. In other words, perfection.
I have plenty of longer earrings, but I’m realizing I’m not really a dangley earring kind of girl. I am however hoping to get a few more pairs of classic studs to mix things up at bit.
