Brandi Strickland.

Large areas of color wash have always been incredibly attractive to me. There’s just something about their vibrant yet delicate appearance that I’m inexplicably drawn to. Artist Brandi Strickland accomplishes this technique with amazing skill and manages to give each piece she creates a depth that really makes its come together as a whole. Strickland’s more abstract pieces are my favorites, but she also has a great hand for portraits. Check it all out at her etsy shop.

CupKozy II.

I love the little felt CupKozy II! A reusable, eco-friendly alternative to the cardboard sleeves typically used at your favorite coffee shop, they’ll fit most 12, 16 and 20 oz. disposable coffee cups. Yea for doing even a little bit to help out the environment and being stylish at the same time.

LOVE in Times Square.

LOVE in Times Square is a striking public art project featuring fifteen banner designs by twelve top graphic designers and illustrators. Each banner utilizes the word “LOVE” in a different typographic treatment as each artist brings their personal interpretation to the word. You can even spread the love by sending an e-card emblazoned with one of the banners to someone special.

Charley Harper ABCs.

Who doesn’t love Charley Harper? Even if you’ve never heard the name before, chances are once you get a look at his vibrantly illustrated images you’ll have an “Aha!” moment. Everyone should have some Charley in their life and if Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life is a little out of your price range put your hand down. Because come May 1st Charley Harper ABCs will be released. I’m already thinking a few pip-squeaks on my list will be getting these this year.

Story By Mia.

Story By Mia is an Etsy shop that I discovered yesterday and instantly loved. Mia’s paper goods are clean and use amazing color palettes. Everything just feels really fresh. All cards and stationary are designed by the lady herself and if you spend $20 shipping is free. If that’s not incentive then I don’t know what is…

Paul Rand Tribute.

Paul Rand is amazing. I’m not sure how I haven’t seen this tribute film from the 2007 One Show, but this morning as I watched it I couldn’t help but think everything that came out of Rand’s mouth was so true and so quotable.

My favorite? “Don’t try to be original. Just try to be good.” If you’re good the originality should follow naturally.

Spin Me.

With V-Day drawing near some of the best ideas are popping up.

Spin Me is an updated version of Spin the Bottle that ups the stakes a bit to make it more a little ‘R’ than ‘G’ rated. And do I even need to say it? Great looking design.
