I really, really like the lines and clean simplistic design behind the Tevere Chair. And in some strange and twisted way it reminds me of a highchair for adults.
A few weeks ago I was out for Saturday dinner with my mom. She had a cold and wanted some hot tea to soothe her scratchy throat. After ordering, the waitress brought out the tea caddy for my mom to make her selection. Upon opening the packet we were both surprised (and a little confused) to see this little drawstring tea bag! The drawstring allows you to get every drop out of the bag in an unintentionally fun way. Completely functional, awesome design which works really, really well.
It’s overcast and supposed to storm this afternoon. I actually love days like this and tornado season give us plenty of them throughout all of April and May. This whole wheat pasta with leeks, asparagus, mushrooms, Gruyere and a fried egg (whew!) screams comfort food to me and would be perfect on a day like today.
I love the blunt, clever, simplicity behind Mike Monteiro’s work. White Helvetica type on black? Can’t go wrong with that combo, my friends. And the sayings are things I totally wish I’d said first.
I am the proud owner of eight Fiestaware place settings of various colors. And while I’m not all about being matchy-matchy I do love these 3-piece mixing bowl sets – especially the green. They’re just so Betty Crocker Classic.
Ruby Red Margaritas and the ridiculous amount of vitamin C found in these citrus fruits can help us all stay healthy. So, technically, you need to drink these for your own good.
Ingredients: – lime wedge – Coarse salt for coating the rim of the glass – 1 jigger (1 1/2 ounces) tequila – 3 tablespoons fresh pink grapefruit juice (preferably ruby red) – 1 pony (1 ounce) orange-flavored liqueur – 1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar if desired
Garnish: 1 quarter of a slice of ruby red grapefruit
Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with the lime wedge, dip it in the salt, coating it lightly, and chill the glass.
In a blender, blend tequila, grapefruit juice, liqueur, sugar and 1 cup ice cubes for 30 seconds. Pour the drink into the glass, and garnish it with the grapefruit slice.
Designer Marten Baptiste really took wine glass aesthetics in a new and interesting direction with the Louise Tripod wine glass. The typical triangular Dutch lines of the base are oddly stabilizing to the balance of the glass in a paralyzing to the mind sort of way.
My stomach is still being fairly rebellious against whatever I put in it. Maybe this light and airy raspberry mousse would do the trick though? (PS: If anyone knows what gelatin sheets are share the love!)
