Yield Picnic Bag/Blanket

Three cheers for multifunctional products! Meet Yield’s picnic bag/blanket, it transforms from bag to blanket with the pull of a zipper (which is also the strap). Nylon cordura provides water-resistant protection and camp-grade quality. If you want to see this product become a reality as much as I do, head on over to Kickstarter to make a donation!

Time to Get Outdoorsy

It’s that time of year when I’ve got camping on the brain! (Even though I’ve camped approximately 2.5 times in my life. And all before the age of 13. But that’s neither here nor there.) You know what they say about a great adventure, half the fun is getting there. Well in this case, half the fun is in the stuff you take there with you. Not exactly glamping, but pretty damn close.

The Occa Maison Marine Lantern for some after dark ambiance. A Brass Stowaway Capsule to keep matches dry and you headed in the right direction. Several Banquinho Stools for gathering around the campfire. Some DIY hand-painted mugs for everyone to take home after the trip as a memento. An enamel long handled warmer for heating hot chocolate and hot toddies. And of course some stylish Marshmallow Twig Roasters for s’mores. (Duh.) Last but not least, lots of cozy Pendleton camp blankets to keep the chill out.

Bold Type Beach Towels

Summer’s end is just around the bend, but there’s still the last hurrah of Labor Day to see to. I’m digging these big, bold type beach towels from Piccadilly for Opening Ceremony. Designers Peter Miles and Leigh Johnson found their typographic inspiration in the signs of New York’s food markets, and I got a laugh out of imagining the people laying on the towels for sale as the items advertised!

Sladle + Stabber

Sharon Myoung and Tony Kim get so many points for the Sladle & Stabber. Let’s start with the name, which is undeniable genius. Then there is their idea to combine indoor and outdoor objects into a sort of hybrid utensil. Last, let’s not forget the overlook the crazy-smart design.

According to Sharon and Tony, it’s this easy to use:
1. Scavenge for a stick. Fight off a bear while doing so.
2. Shave/trim off edges(if need be) to fit snug into the diameter of Hexagon Nut.
3. Rotate & Screw to the neck of either utensils!

Light ‘n Go Bonfire Log

This little Light ‘n Go Bonfire Log is brilliant on so, so many levels. Here are five to start you off.

1. You can burn the birch stump indoors or out, no fireplace or pit needed because it’s completely self-contained!
2. Totally affordable (for real).
3. It comes in two sizes that burn up to two hours.
4. It looks good while doing it.
5. Great for lazy people like me who have forgotten to make a firepit in their backyard for the four years they’ve own their home.
